Hey! Was wondering if anyone here is going to the Shadow Lane Convention this February and also if anyone has been there before and could post some information about the big parties, the private parties, etc. I have spoken with a couple of people but would like as much information as possible. Thanks a lot!

I have never been to an event like this but have been seriously thinking of going to this...I just hate going by myself...for the first time...ya know?.. |

Katie, with you being a bottom lady, young, AND a "spanking model"...well, you'll be a big hit (no pun intended). 
I know quite a few people that have gone to Shadowlane parties. Some enjoyed it, but most did not.
You absolutely have to get to know folks "before" you go, from what I've been told. There is a main room for dinner, sales and gathering, but most spanking fun happens behind closed doors, in private suites, from the info I've gotten. You have to be "in the know" to get an invite, or have your "dates" set up in advance. Single ladies can be popular, and couples tend to enjoy it a bit more. Men alone, seem to have the toughest time, but then most of the men I know were too shy to enjoy going to any social gathering.
You have to make your own fun...or at least have the guts to go out and find it.
If you're a social person, and willing to spend time, prior to the party, getting to know others, you'll have a much better time.
The newsgroup SSS has quite a few people that enjoy Shadowlane, and even the company owners used to participate on that list, although I don't know if they are still there (as I left the group some time ago). You might enjoy that group too. Shadowlane's owners used to regularly contribute to that newsgroup, and they were gracious in their answering questions and posting fun things. They also posts sales there, periodically.
Also, try their own company website, and check out the Personals, and if they have a chat. I don't know if they do...but they might. It's worth a look.

Well, if I go, I'm going with my fiance and a lot of spankos have asked us to go and we're thinking about it, but Jake has reservations that everyone will jsut want to spank me, LOL

My wife and I have talked about going several times, but never have. We both "know" Tony and Eve from their involvement in a.s.s. and s.s.s. (though we've both been gone from the latter for some time) and have quite a few friends who've gone, but I think we'd both be better in a smaller group.

I did go to the Shadow Lane party and I had a good time. It can be a little costly so please save your pennies.The spanking crowd is very friendly so you should meet a lot of different people. There are about 300 spankees and spankers that attend the party and the food they serve is okay. If you want to know more about it,please feel free to ask me any question. |

Yes, I have heard mixed reports spanky and I apprecaite your candor. I have heard from some that limits are not respected and yet I have heard from others that limits and boundaries are... any opinions? Thanks!

Hello Katie, Tony and Eve try there best to stay on top of things over there. I have noticed that they have warned and banned a couple of knuckleheads who were not respecting a few ladies at the event. There is usually over 300 people there so you might have a couple of chowder heads present. But the security is good and I noticed that everybody sort of bond together and look out for one another. And most of the guys are on there best behavior because there is a lot of competition present. LOL |

Haha, that is good to know. See a friend of mine went and didn't have the most pleasant of experiences (she is female), and I have a male friend who went and said it was a great time. Neither knew one another but yet the same party and 2 completely different opinions. I don't doubt that Tony and Eve try to keep this at bay but nonetheless there are a lot of scumbags you know? Granted I will go with my fiance, should we decide to go, so theorically should be able to decide if and who I want to play with, I just don't want total randos just coming up to me and spanking me, because I would see that as total disrespect if I didn't want it.

I think it would be pretty cool to check out but I'm not sure my wife would be open to anyone else 'teaching me a lesson'.
Looking at the pics on their site of past partys; it looks like it would be a great place to see some new toys. I would imagine that you could "try before your buy" too!

Katie, at "any" spanking party, you'll find those that won't respect limits, or those that go overboard. This comes from those that are sooooo excited to be out and spanking, they get carried away. There will also be those that will NEVER respect someone's limit (this type usually doensn't last long, in the public arena).
I was at two different parties, where men took it upon themselves to smack "me."  (Not a good move...and "totally" without consent.) There are some that will come up to you and touch you, without knowing who you are...like hand around your shoulder, or pat you on your head (as if that's a fine "hello"). I even had a man put his hands around my neck, from behind (how stupid was that to do? A complete and total stranger, I might add....at his "very" first party.). They are IDIOTS! This is the way of the spanking world. But...there are MOSTLY wonderful folks there, and at any other spanking party you might enjoy. It's really not a reflection of the "group" itself, as they are certainly unable to control that large of a crowd. From what I understand, Tony and Eve do a really good job at it, in spite of idiots always being present. I've gotten the impression that neither one of them puts up with much **it.
Perhaps they (Eve and Tony) should be invited to this message forum. If they had the time and inclination, I know they'd have much to contribute.
Their party, like any, will be fun if you make it fun. Any party is as good as you want it to be, and sometimes you have to expect to take charge, and not expect the "party" to entertain you. (Not saying "you"...as Katie...just talking about "people" in general, in attendance.)
It's a gathering place, to meet others. After that...you're sort of on your own, to socialize and have a spanking great time.
I've been to parties that people said were a complete bust, and yet I had the most fabulous time.
When you go, Katie, it'll be nice to hear your view of it. Somehow I just know that "you'll" have a great time.

Wow ftop thanks for the great advice. I'm thinking I might shy away; were I to hae had any of the experiences you had, I don't know how polite I would have been to the culprits.

One thing I would like to mention is, when a guest behaves in an inappropriate manner, we often aren't told about it until a week or two after the event. It's a lot more helpful if our guests report any problems to either Eve or myself during the party. We have professional security, both private and employed by the hotel, especially at our Las Vegas parties, and we're more than equipped to handle such things in a manner that is reasonable and fair to all concerned. |

I would love to attend a Shadowlane party sometime, if just to check out all the wonderful vendors I've heard about. I think they have demo's too and I love learning new things!
Katie, if Jake is with you I doubt you have anything to worry about. As long as he's nearby to keep an eye on things and you explain the rules to whoever is going to spank you, you should be fine. Or if your really worried, just refuse to play with anyone else. Believe me, if someone accosts you and you raise your voice...they will back off in a hurry. No male spanker wants to be labeled a creep.

Does anyone know of any 'vendor fair' type exhibition for bdsm or sex related merchandise. Somehow, I think we just missed the big one that is in Las Vegas every year. Is that the only one, and if not is there another that is something like it?
