Last week the Jokari Paddle that I won in the 2 year anniversary contest arrived. Hubby was at work, but as is often the case here, by the time he would be off, I would be at work. So I openned it right away, on my own.
The paddle is far bigger and heavier than anything we had prior. But I was eager to try it out, and texted him to that effect. When he got home, he took one look at it and decided that he was not going to use that on me, for my safety. When I came home in the morning, he told me this, and I told him that I didn't agree with that.
Since it is my bottom in question, I won out, and the end result was a very quick few whacks with the paddle before I settled to sleep for the day. Now these weren't hard whacks, because he was still afraid of harming me, but with very little effort he got a quick rosy glow. And I got a good sleep.
We agreed that the next day we would give it a "proper" trying out. However that was when a severe heat wave hit and we were too hot to follow up on that. It took until Friday to cool the weather enough to go ahead with the spanking.
So we had me on all fours on the bed, and gave me a warm up wiht his hand, before grabbing the paddle. He was still quite worried about my bottom becoming over-done or injured. So he started very lightly. After a few whacks (we don't count) he stopped and asked my opinion, while caressing my bottom.
That pattern continued, with each set becoming more intense by very small increments. And let me tell you all that even with the very small changes in how he was using it (and all the time still pretty lightly) he still managed to build quite a fire with my backside.
He says he feels like he's cheating by using it, since he gets so much reaction from me with so little effort. But we both enjoyed it, and since I tend to have colour and tenderness fade very quickly, we both were pleased that I was sitting carefully Saturday.
So we are both pleased with this and grateful to Bethie for her generosity with these contests. Thanks again!!!

I too have a Jokari paddle that someone gave to me and I must tell you GO SLOW with that thing! It leaves a mighty sting and can bruise if you are not careful! It will definitely bring you to tears! I personally l}ike to use it though because it is so effective with a bratty attitude or anything else! When I first got it I checked it out on myself to see what the effects were going to be. I don't want to do any damage to the person I am spanking! It leaves your butt red for sure! Eventually you can work your way up to more hits but as I say, go slow! Rapid fire hits will surely change anybodies attitude! Anybody else out there have one and care to comment? |

Go slow we definitely did! And even with that it took some convincing on my part to have hubby even try it. I know I should be being much more careful what I wish for and all that. And I suspect from his reactions that there will be no rapid fire use of that for quite some time, since he is way too cautious about hurting me. Lucky me!

I also won a jokari from Bethie:In our repertoire we consider it to be a medium to hard spank.The wooden paddle that Prissi,s husband made for me we consider a hard spank.And My spankee wants nothing to do with the whip or the chicote It,s a great paddle!! |

I didn't win a paddle from Bethie, but her blog is definitely the reason I bought mine (ah, eBay). In fact, that darn Bethie and her darn blog have made me go shopping way too many times.

Blushing, I'm glad you're getting some use out of the Jokari! I (like Buena) consider it a medium toy and it's one of my favorites. There are times when it's just the right toy for the moment. 
Although it's never brought me to tears or bruised me (just call me "Iron Butt"), since it's a tad bit heavy, it has numbed me a bit after a long spanking. Breaks keep that from happening, but occasionally we get too caught up in the moment. When that happens, I just tell Dan I'm getting numb to it and he'll do some rubbing to get the circulation going again. Then I can feel it! It sounds like you two knew exactly how to build up the intensity without it becoming overwhelming. Great job!

Just to add an update... This prize has now become a spanking staple in our house, and is hubby's absolute favourite implement.  I am careful to laugh about this when he is safely at work (so far). But we both are enjoying it, and he's definitely gotten the feel for it  now that we've had it for 3 months or so.
