"White Christmas" (1954), starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, was the first movie to be made in Vista Vision, a deep-focus process. "The Nutcracker" is the name for the ballet performed around Christmas time each year. "The Nutcracker Suite" is the title of the music Tchaikovsky wrote. A Christmas club, a savings account in which a person deposits a fixed amount of money regularly to be used at Christmas for shopping, came about around 1905. A traditional Christmas dinner in early England was the head of a pig prepared with mustard. According to a 1995 survey, 7 out of 10 British dogs get Christmas gifts from their doting owners According to the National Christmas Tree Association, Americans buy 37.1 million real Christmas trees each year; 25 percent of them are from the nation's 5,000 choose-and-cut farms. Alabama was the first state to recognize Christmas as an official holiday. This tradition began in 1836. |

Christmas clubs were such a good idea...do they still do those anymore? A pigs head? Really? Ick! Whatever happened to the beloved Christmas goose? If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

The bank I work for still has the Christmas Club account. Its a real good idea. You can't really take the money out I think until around the end of November. I'm guessing if you closed your account you could get it out earlier....but its a great way to save and not touch it. I'm with you on the pigs head...YUCKKKK |

OK...so I get my precious doggie a Chrismas pressie! She's part of the family too!
Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

Ohhh, she's so pretty! I have always bought gifts for my pets on Christmas, Finn is getting all kinds of toys and a new bed. I'm sure even more American pets get pressies than British ones. If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

Pigs head is a specialty here in Guatemala called revolcado. It,s not the whole head and with out the brains but although the idea isn,t very appetising in practice it,s really quite good. And christmas goose ever since Scrooge I,ve wondered about that.Always assumed it,s an English thing but every time a see a pride of geese I wonder how you cook the damn things. They certainly look appeticing. |

Tammy, I had to cover my fireplace...my goofy cat was going in there and leaving ashy pawprints everywhere! Buenaventura, cooking geese is just like doing duck. Their extremely oily things and need to be drained well as they cook. But they are delicious! If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.
