The response I just gave to "who can you tell" got me thinking (dangerous area!). We all have different degrees of spankings. What is a typical spanking for you. I know this varies from circumstance to circumstance, but just describe what is typical for you.

I typically get a bedtime spanking each night. Nothing too harsh just 10-20 light to medium swats with his hand or sometimes an impliment of his choice. They are always on my bare butt and mostly over his lap. I think the having to bare my own bottom and bend over his lap willingly is to reinforce my submission. I had been getting very uppity (?) and forgetting who was who in our relationship and these help me to remember that I am the sub and should act accordingly. If I rail against him or if he has to put me over his lap and bare my bottom then he spanks harder and longer. Some nights we are too exhausted... and that's ok but it's only a few times a week he is too tired 
Sometimes there have been times during the day I have managed to get my behind in trouble and those transgressions sometimes can;t be handeled right away so then they default to bedtime and thats when a bedtime spanking can also have extras... like punishment swats. So I get my normal 10-20 and then get a harder spanking, too. 
The hardest spanking I get are usually the ones metted out right away for misbehavior. My husband spanks hard and he doesn't always make them bare spakings he makes sure he gets his message across just as if they were on my bare bottom. And I am not allowed to rub afterwards at all. Getting caught means more swats and much harder than the last. |

When I ask for it, I usually get spanked with what ever's lying around. Generally, he'll wait until I start struggling, give me a few extra swats, and then stop. I haven't had any "punishment" spankings yet, but the closest thing I do get is when he tells me to do something, (usually something for my own well being) and I decide to be stubborn about it, he'll wrestle me down, flip me over, bare my bottom, and spank me until I promise to comply. If I get really incorrigible, he'll grab whatever implement is nearby. I got it with the remote control once! |

Hmmm I'm not sure we have what you'd call a "typical spanking" experience. We mix it up a lot; different ways of leading up to the spanking, different positions, different rooms, varied implements, etc.
The only thing that stays the same is how we end them. After a long spanking (one that isn't a "quickie" spanking) we make love. Spanking is an important part of the lovemaking process for us.
When I say "quickie" I mean the short playful spankings I get on a regular basis as a show of affection between us. It could be just a couple of swats or a couple of minutes worth of spanking. It's fun, flirtatious, and our way of interacting as a couple. And since we have implements in every room, he has no problem grabbing whatever is handy!  |

It's a good question, TP. We are still novices at this, but for us a typical spanking is erotic, as part of our foreplay. Usually about 15 minutes or so until we get, ahem, sidetracked...
Our most commonly used instrument is definetely his hand, but I almost always get a little something else -- espescially if I am encouraging enough. 
Although, I am delighted to say that I have recently been getting more and more of those lovely little swats that let me know he's paying attention to me.

I would say that a typical spanking in our house is erotic. Hands to start with and then stepping it up to the toys. Switching from toy to toy depending on the reaction and our interest level. As nicely put earlier, until we get side tracked
Discipline is different. Depends on the why and the where and who is around (namely kids in the house). I would prefer to do something immediate, but there are times when he has to wait, which I am learning is almost worse for him. I've learned to discipline him its better to not put him over my lap. Pants down over the end of the bed or the back of the couch. I know when to stop by his reaction and his squirming and if I feel he got the hint or if the punishment has fit the misdeed. |
