We,ve had this discussion lately and we kind of agree on something (strangly enough? )I believe that many spankees are extremely strong minded women who tend to be successful at what the do(my spankee is an engineer and runs a private school)and would never be taken for the little girl she likes to be with me.She,s had several spankers and says most of them were easy going guys sometimes too easy going and only took on another persona as a spanker.As you all know I,m an extremely easy going guy who can be twisted around her finger when she breaks one of "our" rulesShe agrees to all my rules)and when she,s serious about something it,s very different.Now knowing some of you ladies as I do I think all of you are very strong minded women (possible sxception of Shylah )and one if there is something therethat we haven,t discussed before. |

Reread it and it,s kinda incoherent but the question is are most spankees strong minded women in real life and most spankers really very easy going guys till they take on their role as spankers |

You are absolutey correct B.V. (even the part about Shylah being demure and shy) 
I am not submissive at all, I know exactly what I like and what I am doing. I started my own business after I had to quit my prior job as a crisis counselor during chemo. We have both biological kids and ones we adopted from abusive homes and I am very physically active. I took care of my mother after her stroke for the last five years of her life.
That said, I do love to let it all go, and just let him take over. I overdo and never get enough sleep, and he knows exactly how and when to get me to the place of relinquishment. So no, we do not have a real DD relationship 24/7, but I love it when the time is right.

While I do know my own mind most of the time, my husband has never been confused with easy going. He's a nice guy when you get to know him, but people who don't would describe him as stern, hard and unyielding. Grumpy fits too. He has been the 'Alpha male' type for all of his adult life and prefers to be in control at all times. You'd figure a guy like that who is also into spanking might 'let go' by bottoming or switching, at the very least, but M doesn't. He'd rather top. |

I agree with you BV.
My husband is so laid back and easy going. BUT...he is NOT easy going when he is spanking me. He is different then, very authoritive.
I'm NOT submissive at all in my day to day life, I have to be a strong minded person at work.
I do tend to be submissive when I'm being spanked. I love letting go and not being strong sometimes. |

I would agree with this idea also.
My boyfriend is a very laid back guy who in most areas would prefer me to make decisions, groceries, dinner, eating out, movies, even when we go to bed, etc. However when it comes to spanking and most things in the romance department, he takes charge and I make little to no decisions.
I am more authoritative in my day to day life, making decisions for myself and sometimes others. I consider myself a strong person and in my day to day life would not want it any different, but when it comes to spanking, I no longer have the drive to be in control. |

I'm a little feisty and very strong-minded. Dan isn't what I'd call laid back though. He's a man with strong opinions and a strong personality. He's also very funny, personable, and protective of his loved ones. But he's not what I'd call easy going. He's the kind of guy people expect to lead the way; it's that personality of his.
My friends and family think he's the perfect match for me and they have no idea about the spanko side of things either. People always tell me it's funny how much alike we are and that makes me giggle. It just goes to show how our private life is just between us.
I know some people believe that someone who lets another person spank them must be submissive all the time, but it doesn't have to be that way. That's not my personality type. I've always felt that since I'm so strong minded, I need someone who's strong, too. Otherwise it just wouldn't work for me. To everyone else I'm a modern gal who can kick butt in the everyday world, but when it comes to this area of my life, I'm quite happy to give Dan the responsibility of head of our household. |

Well Bethie Irun 60 salespeople with a lot of energy on my part (and theirs ),run the english dept. at her school,and have a small chemical company.I guess I,m a take charge kind of guy too but like I say I,m easy goin  .She,s a disciplinarian at work(has to be at school)and pretty much runs most people,s around her,s lifes (cept mine )of course!! |
