I'd love to know where everyone is getting the great emoticons and other animated bits they add to their posts. For example Wolfie, the animated bit you added to your first reply in Darwins Fantasy thread about spanking a moderator. It was great!! Where do you find that stuff?? |

Rocco, I've been picking them up from different sites for over a year now. I unabashedly steal them whenever I get the chance. I've stolen several from Bethie, who knows how to actually create them.
When you see one you'd like to keep, just right click on it. A box will open, and you click on "save picture as". Your picture box will open up and your curser will be on a strip called "file name". You can leave it as is, or give it a different name (something you will recognize) then left click on "save". It will disappear, and is now saved in your picture file.
If you need help inserting it into a thread here, just let me know. There are some good free sites that let you take their emoticons, but most of mine I have taken where I found them. This also works for other pictures and animations.
You wont tell I stole them, right? I think stealing is a spankable offense.  |

Oh, now you want my help? After tipping off my Top? (say THAT three times fast!) Hmmmmm.... 
Oh well, since you asked so nicely. Once you have some pics or emoticons downloaded (saved) and you want to use one, place your cursor where you want it to go...then click down below on the box "upload attachment". I have pop up blockers, so I have to keep one finger on the control key while I do this or it treats it like a pop up. Another box will open up, and you can click on "browse". It should open to your pictures selection, although you may have to open My Documents and My Pictures first. Once you've chosen one you like, click on it and click "open", then click "upload" then click on "close".
You should be back at your post with { and some numbers where the emoticon will go. Once you finish your post and hit preview, you should be able to see how it looks. The more you practice this, the easier it will become.

Thanks for the walk through, i'll try it in the test post area to see if I can get it right. Do you suppose it works the same for regular emails??

Rocco, when I want to insert a picture into an e-mail I stop the curser where I want the pic to be. Then I click on "Insert" at the top of my mail (I use Explorer) and then click on "picture". Another box should open, allowing you to browse your selection of pics and choose the one you want. Once you have "opened" it, click on "ok" and the pic should be in your e-mail.
If this doesnt work, perhaps someone with more computer savvy than I could help you?  |

I think the problem is with Yahoo email. The process works for other programs but I'm still wrestling with email...

On this site, when you upload an attachment, it gives you a code that is usually placed at the end of your post. If you don't want your image placed there, you can cut and paste it wherever you want.
Remember, the image you plan to upload needs to be downloaded onto your computer (usually in your pictures folder) and should be in a jpeg or gif format.

Do you have something in mind Bigfoot? If you already have an image, go to the Profile button at the top of the page and click on it. It'll prompt you for your username and password. That'll take you to where you can edit your profile. Go down to the picture section and follow the directions there.
The picture has to be 100 x 150 pixels or less. About the size of the ones you see on other people's posts. Here's an example.

Yeah, that dog is supposed to be a pic of me, too. The picture you select for your profile is what shows up when you post. If you know what pic you want and are having problems putting it in your profile, I can do it for you. Just upload the pic in a post here and I can do it.
I could put the bigfoot I posted above in your profile now and you can change it later. |

You can use the "Insert Clipart Image" button at the top of the message box or use the formatting tags.
