I think it’s safe to say that the Den is populated mostly by male tops and female bottoms. I know I’m not the only switch in the Den. So it’s time to stand up and be counted. There are some people who are open to switching and others that definately are not. R is one who absolutley is not a bottom in any sense. I have been known to give him a swat in passing, but he nearly always pays me back. He will not even discuss the possibility of giving it a try. That is fine with me, I don't feel the need to be a top. I get my revenge is so many other ways!!

Okay, so I have a question about switching....
Forgive me while I expose my extremely poor understanding. 
I've always assumed that I enjoy being spanked because of physiological or cultural forces that cause me to enjoy feeling dominated but loved and cherished and protected - even from myself. I guess the physiological comes more into play as to why it's a turn on...
And, I've always assumed that it was the opposite for men who like to spank. They enjoy being dominant and loving, protecting, and cherishing their spankee. And that comes from certain physiological or cultural forces acting out in their lives. Plus, I think men are more visual, and they enjoy looking at bare bottoms.
So anyway, what is it that motivates a switch? Is it the same, only both? I really don't want to offend anyone, I'm just trying to understand. Whatever you enjoy is okay, whether it's my kink or not.

Okay Readergirl, here is my take on your question. As a switch there are a couple different things going for me when it comes to spanking.
From my top side, I do enjoy the visual aspect, no denying that. More so it's all about the dominant, loving, protecting, and cherishing of the spankee. The specific dynamics can change with different partners, but in my experiences that is what it's been about. It's also highly erotic and fun play.
From the bottom side, for me at least, I find being spanked to be a huge escape, and the side or after effect are much better than a night of heavy drinking. It's the perfect stress reliever. It's a time to let go of all the crap from the day, relinquish some control, allow the person you love to take care of you and help to realign focus, and just to connect with that person in an intimate way. Good evening Rocco, and good evening everyone. I too am a switch - a switch who likes a switching!
As a top I don't get much action because my partner is even less into being spanked than she is into spanking me! Basically we have a good loving relationship, but with a kink discrepency.
