I am still a new member but am having so much fun in the play area and the bottoms are so much fun to spank but there is such a thing as overbratting. I try to pay equal attention to everyone but it becomes less fun when brats continually run and hide from spankings and brat to the point where its not as fun as it could be. |

Hi, Laszlo! There's a few of us who have been trying to get this very same point across for some time. Remember when you posted that thread titled "Play Area" and some of us gave some hints about excessive bratting? That's what we were talking about. I've even posted new guidelines in that area but I don't know if anyone's reading them. I think that the feelings you're having are justified and I'm afraid that you're not the first top who's felt this way. I've had more than one of our members tell me that the excessive bratting is what causes them to stay away from that area. I've seen this sort of thing get out of control on other boards and in chat rooms as well. I'd hoped we wouldn't have too much of a problem here and feel like I'm to blame for not stepping in earlier. I tried to start a couple of fun threads myself but it didn't seem to catch on. Since then, I've only watched it closely but haven't interfered much at all. I just don't know what to do. What I'm afraid of is that it's turned off would-be members and that's what worries me the most. I don't want that area to be overwhelm the atmosphere of this board. I included that area so we'd have a place to have light-hearted conversations and I'm afraid it's gotten out of control. There aren't too many real storylines going (which is the only way I know how to cyber-play btw) and it gets really confusing. When I was first introduced to that type of playing, we had a good time but we had a developing story for each thread that was fun as well. It wasn't just bratting to be bratting. We were teasing each other, making jokes, being silly, and making friends. I don't remember there being much spanking actually...we were just a bunch of friends having light-hearted conversations and flirting - when we weren't having serious discussions, that is. (It's also how I landed Dan...hint, hint!) I don't want the cyber-players to think I don't want them here because I do, I wouldn't have included that area if I didn't. I just want them to tone it down and play nice! Then maybe more people will want to join in. That's really the goal of this place, you know. Any suggestions here or input from the cyber-players would be appreciated! |

Not a cyber player but wanted to chime in, as I do recall the topic being brought up at least one other time, since I joined the site, and even though I don't spend any time in the cyber play area, isn't that what it's about? Isn't it for people to act like they normally might not act...just to have fun? I realize that it can be excessive, in fact, to me...ANY bratting is too much, but those brats are there to enjoy themselves too. I would think that if someone goes overboard, and 'runs and hides' to prevent following through with the thread, that you'd figure out who those folks were, and could just avoid interacting with them...until they learned to "behave." I've had real life brats go too far, and I specifically told them how I felt, and then ceased to have contact with them, if they didn't respect my wishes not to be their target for silliness. You see, to me...being a "brat" is tantamount to age play. In my view, adults seriously don't act like that unless they have a mental deficiency, or they enjoy age play, reverting to a time when they could be silly to be spanked. I guess everyone's fun is different, which is why I stay out of there, but if you prevent brats from being brats, or request them to "tone it down"...where is "their" fun. K <brat slayer in a previous life, I'm sure...but still defend their need to enjoy themselves in this life |

Sorry K, but I believe bratting should be fun for everyone. Your idea of ignoring those brats who go overboard is a good one, just difficult to teach to the Tops sometimes. I remember on another site wanting a friend of mine to get her first cyber spanking. I contacted a Top I knew and begged him to come to the thread I would start, and do the honors. He agreed, and we had a marvelous time...my girlfriend loved every minute of it and we both got blistered bottoms out of it. Suddenly we were inundated by some other brats who did everything they could to get his attention...like dumping paint on him, putting sewage in his pool and feeding him terrible things. He spanked them once, then twice and then finally left in disgust since they wouldnt leave him be. Now all this is of course not real life. If it had been they would have been arrested, not spanked. And its not that we didnt want them to join us, but they spoiled it by hogging all his attention, not being satisfied with their share and doing outrageous and unrealistic things to be sure they got spanked. So we ended up with a Top who hasnt been back to the cyber play area since. I usually only play with Steve that way, he controls what happens and wont fall for other brats tactics. But I do enjoy cyber play, and I'm glad to do so with anyone who wishes to play with me. As Bethie said, a real storyline can go on for ages, causing all kinds of hilarity and fun. I dont know what we can do to fix this problem, except hope that the brats wise up or the Tops stay patient. If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

As a former "cyber brat", I can understand the overbratting that is done online. After all, that is how I met my hubby. For some, the online spanking is all they can hope to receive. The attention for the Top can be quite competitive. It can be taken too far sometimes. As I posted a couple of months back, I had a visit from a "friend" who bratted so much she was doing my head in. The Spanker can only take so much and then it's not fun for them anymore. By all means...be a brat and have fun with it! But keep in mind, it's like overeating, too much can cause problems. It won't get you spanked but it WILL get you ignored. Take stock of how you interact. Then look twice at the reaction of the Top. If it seems you're going overboard, be the submissive you are and take the spanking with grace...well...TRY to take it with grace. (LOL) Tops are people with feelings too and will react to the submissivness easier than to the brattiness. Give them the reason to spank you and then take it from there. If you are having to compete for the attention, I can bet the one that is most submissive and shows more obedience will be the one that gets the much wanted attention. Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

I've already posted before that the cyber play area to me isn't that fun. I go and check it out every now and then and it hasn't changed in the few months I've been coming here. I can't and won't play like that. It doesn't even look like bratting...being mean and sometimes silly and then running away?? I don't get it. I'm all for fun and would really like to join in in the cyber play area...but it is to much for me... I keept thinking people will see that Tops don't stay there long and take a hint. Keep trying Laszlo...maybe it will get better! |

Sorry, K, I meant to post as "Bethie" and posted as "Admin" accidently - and I don't have time to fix it. Whoops! K, we're not trying to get the bratting to stop, because that's part of cyber play. We're talking about the excessive and rude bratting that's been going on. I've seen them make posts that were downright rude and mean, even for cyber-bratting. You say you ignore the ones who are too bratty, but it's hard to do that when brats are constantly nipping at your heels for a reaction. The only thing they can do is leave the cyber-play area. And some have, never to be seen again, too. They'll brat a top but when it comes time for their spanking, they'll run off and laugh at the top while they go. The top will keep catching the brat and land a few smacks, but instead of playing along, they'll mysteriously slip away. It's aggravating for the tops who are trying to play along. The brats get their fun by bratting but then deny the top their fun by not playing along. It's not fair. Also, when a top spanks a brat and then the brat immediately does something else to get spanked, and then does something even worse to get more spanking, it becomes a neverending cycle and is aggravating for the top. They can't play with everyone when a certain few continuously bombard them with excessive bratting. They eventually leave because it's redundant. Why spank when spanking has the exact opposite effect it should? Anyway, that's how it's become lately and I wouldn't be worried so much, but I've been hearing the same complaints from members and I'm wondering what we can do to make that area more accessible to others. I know it would be near impossible, but how about the person that starts the thread, being responsible for bringing them (the brats) back in? Let the thread originator have the authority to post the "tone" of the thread to begin, and to maintain it, if it's goes off track from what "they" wanted it to be? Sort of like policing your own thread. If people don't play nice, according to the OP, that brat no longer is allowed to post to that particular thread. Have them called on the carpet, right there in the thread, and warn them...and then delete their posts, thereafter. They do it twice, in the same disruptive manner, in another thread...they get kicked out of the cyber area all together (although I don't know if that even possible). I do think "spanking" them is rewarding the brat attitude, and it also sounds like it's giving the playful, fun brats a bad name too. I completely understand some Tops leaving the area after multiple and persistent brat attacks. It has also happened at real life parties to a few people, and it's not a pleasant situation for the entire group. K |

I have to completely agree with the complaint about the play area. I want to join in, I've even tried to think of ways to work myself in, but... It just seems so immature, and, like bethie said--there's no story of sorts to any of the posts. It seems as if one were to try to start a story it would instantly be invaded by a bunch of selfish little children who contribute nothing but feeding their own need to it. If it were the occasional thread, it would be one thing, but it's every single thread. It makes a person wishing to join think that there isn't room for them--because there isn't, but moreover, that's not the sort of play a lot of people (I assume to speak for others) want. I love the discussion sections of this site, but, I am just so turned off by the cyber play area... and that's lamentable. |

Perhaps it might work to limit the number of threads a person can be part of at one time and also require the permission of the original poster before joining it. It would just be a post like New sub: (Hey, top, can I join this thread?) Original Poster: (Sure, <any>) |

I've played in a number of cyber play area, and I prefer the more mild real life type bratting of the Top. But also in my opinion, don't you as the player want to know something of the Top, his personality, who he is in the cyber world per se. Just to have a Top come along and go Spank, Spank, Spank, when you have no connection to him doesn't make sense. If all is done is bratting with very little to no conversation with the Top how do you know who he is? What he is like? I think the play area with more depth and conversation and then the spankings as warranted would lead to much more satisfaction for the Top and the brat that only can spank or get spanked in cyber. Just my opinion! The Spice of Life is having my OWN WAY!! A spanking would be nice.
