I'm just wondering... Does anyone have any ideas on how to control menopause besides the HRT? I'm doing HRT but the menopause is getting my butt toasted!! He seems to think I could control the mood swings better. I can't help it...the mood swings make me want to cause CHAOS AND DISORDER...MAYHEM...DESTRUCTION. Help????? Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

Shylah I am taking Estroven and it does seem to help some. At least enough that I can see a difference. But at times the mood swings are still there, but perhaps not as severe. Maybe that will help curb your moods some. Good luck. The Spice of Life is having my OWN WAY!! A spanking would be nice.

SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH It happened again...MAJOR mood swing. Today about noon. Dunno what prompted it, been having hot flashes all night and didn't sleep well I guess. I turned on him like a vicious cat after a small fawn. I think it was the look of hurt in his face that brought me back to sanity. I can't do enough for him today. I made him his favorite dinner and some apple crisp, which he loves. And I've apologized all day long telling him how much I love him. Still got spanked. I deserved it. Mother Nature hates me. Monday I'm calling the Dr about changing my HRT. I use the patches and don't think they are effective anymore. Damn patch didn't save my butt. Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

Question Shylah, do the spankings make you feel any better? You say you deserved it, so I am wondering if you have discovered a new miracle cure for hormmone swings? Queen of Innocence "Well behaved woman rarely make history"

Fanny, the spanking didn't change the mood swings, just made me feel a lil less guilty over biting his head off. Tammy, you lil snot. You just wait. It'll get you one day. Then I'm gona call Nexypoo and tell him just what to expect! You'll never sit again if I know him! Bob did ask me earlier what is the best way to try and help me. I told him.... Don't talk to me, touch me, look at me or breathe. Just stand at the door, throw chocolate and RUN! Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

Okay Shylah, you appear to have the answer in your last statement. And also the solution to relieving your guilt feelings. Now tell me how long is this process supposed to last? I may just book an island in advance to be prepared. Oh, and.....does spanking keep your butt from starting to sag?!? Queen of Innocence "Well behaved woman rarely make history"

Well Fanny, I had a hyst(howeverit'sspelled) when I was 30 so I've had the symptoms off and on for almost 23 years. The last 5 years tho they have been more intense. Because of the concerns of HRT in the last few years, I don't use the patches all the time. Only when the symptoms get where the hot flashes are more often and my hands shake. The mood swings seem to be worse during the time of month I used to have a period. I'm hoping that it gets better soon. I'll know more on Monday when I see a doc. I hate it when I find myself snapping at him cos he really doesn't do anything to deserve it. I've asked for another spanking tomorrow. He said he would think about it. Meanie. Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

While not in menopause, I know it's around the corner. I've read a few books on perimenopause and some things online, so by no means am I an expert, or a sufferer. From all that I've heard and read, exercise seems to be the universal helper for feeling better. I believe it would help a sagging butt too. I know I feel better with exercise, but it's probably just trading up on hormones and endorphins for a brief period. I'm feelin' good right after working out. It not only helps me physically, but mentally. And before anyone says anything...I know, it's the catch all answer, for so many things, and it's easier said than done...but it really does work. I exercised for about 10 months, every single day, and then things happened that took me away from it. (That's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it! ) Anyway, it's VERY hard to get back on that horse again, but I know I felt sooooo much better when I worked out. It really might be worth the effort. K |

I'm peri-menopausal myself, but I'd never take HRT due to the increased risks of getting cancer. It can also cause heart attacks as well, one of the biggest killers of women. If your an animal lover, please be sure to boycott the use of the drug "Premarin". The name stands for Pregnant Mare Urine, and its the hormones secreted in this urine that help women cope with night sweats and hot flashes. Unfortunately, the care of these mares (horses) and their offspring is disgusting...their fed just enough so they dont abort their babies, being re-bred as soon as possible after the birth of their foals until they can no longer get pregnant. At that point they are shipped off to auctions and canneries, where their babies have already gone. We abolished animal testing and the rabbit pregnancy test because of cruelty to animals a long time ago. Too bad there are always people who will find new ways to get around the law, using and abusing the innocent for profit. If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

I've found that for me relaxation (like relaxation through self hypnosis or progressive muscle relaxation) and meditation works quite well to ease the mood swings. But like to a workout you have to stick to it regularly. And if I am panicking (I don't know if that's due to the climacterium or a relic of the very difficult last years I had with my mother suffering from Alzheimer's), I take rescue remedy (Bach). Just like Wolfie I don't want to take HRT because of the inherent dangers and so I try to get along without it. |

Good to see this thread, Shylah! My butt is seriously so bruised from my mood swings I don't know if it will ever heal. I do pretty good during the day, but I don't sleep well at night and by evening, I'm a bitch! I think if I could sleep better maybe I could behave, but so far I just have a sore butt. I think the spankings help for awhile...meaning an hour or two! My mom had breast cancer so I'm afraid of any hormones. |

HRT only works if taken everyday not when you feel i=like it. The reson you are getting moid swings is because your hormone levels are not steady. If the though of taken soemthing everyday is not for you than you need to look for soemthing else like daily excerise. There are soem goodesults with St. John;s wart and a prudct called estasoy IIthink) that can be brought in a health food store but also needs to be taken everyday. I have never had mood swings or hot flashes and I am 51 but I think it is becasue I am a vegan I eat soy all the time. I am definelty in the menopause years and after years of taking drugs to try and have children I decided that HRT was to great of an added risk. The drugs that I took to have children increase cancer rates so I went in a different direction. As I said I eat soy daily and I excerise everyday even before I joined the new gym. All you need to do is as simple as walking or riding a bike soenthing that you enjoy. Spaek to your doctors because each one of us is different. Love can't always be seen or heard but will always be felt with your heart
