To celebrate our new server, I'm holding a contest for three items. Here they are!
These are items I picked up on our recent vacation. There are two souvenir "Alaska" paddles and one cute "Time-Out Moose" for you to choose from.
The paddles are self-explanatory. After all this is a spanking forum, you know.  And I think the moose would be great to hang onto during those fun timed spankings some of us get or for measuring any other timed events you might indulge in. Here are the rules for our contest.
I'll start three new threads; one for the moose and one for each of the paddles. To enter the contests, you must submit an entry to the thread of the prize you'd like to win. You can submit as many entries as you can come up with. At the end of the contest, we'll draw a name for each prize from that prize's entries but we'll limit it to only one prize per member or member household.
The contests will run from today, Oct 3rd until Monday, Oct 24th and the prizes will be awarded that following week.
For Paddle #1 you must submit a spanking limerick.
Limericks are five line rhyming poems that follow this pattern: a a b b a with lines 1, 2 and 5 containing 3 beats and rhyming, and lines 3 and 4 having two beats and rhyming. But we're not going to be too fussy, just make sure it has some kind of spanking in it and follows the pattern as best you can. See our example. 
Example:
When Angela touches her toes,
She weeps and she wails, for she knows
The sting of the tawse
Is going to cause
Her bottom to blush like a rose!

For the Paddle #2, we're asking for spanking nanofiction.
What's nanofiction? They're mini-stories. Each story should contain the following four elements: 1) a setting, 2) one or more characters, 3) conflict, and 4) resolution. Plus, the whole story can only be 55 words long, not counting the title, which must be no more than 7 words long. The one rule we'll really stick to is that it must be 55 words long, we'll allow some writer discretion on the rest.
Example:
Shopping Fun (by Bethie)
“Owww!” Jan yelped as Ben spanked her hard and fast with his new toy.
“This’ll teach you to misbehave when we’re shopping!” he declared as she struggled across his lap.
She’d given him that swat at the store just to get his attention. She only wanted to show him the nice bath brush she’d found!
For the Moose Timer, we'll take either a spanking limerick or nanofiction. It's your choice.
Please only submit entries you've written yourself. We can only accept original works. And remember, to pay attention to the rules and compose your entry to match the specifications we outlined. We're not asking for perfection, but we'd like the entries to meet the minimal requirements we outlined. If an entry blatantly fails to meet the criteria, it won't be included for the drawing.
Lastly, please keep the basic rules of the Den in mind when writing your entries; no mention of minors, settings or characters that imply minors are involved, etc. Reread site protocols if in doubt.
Okay, those are the rules. If you have any questions post them here, please, and not on the threads that contain the entries.

Oh, no..... I don't write limericks or nanofiction well. My HOH says I am prolific in more than just writing (whatever that means*grin*) How about a contest for us non-limerick and non-nanofiction writers?

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Smartnnaughty, nanofiction isn't really hard. Read over the entries and see if you can come up with something. We're not asking for perfection here, just give us a 55 word short story.
Here's an outline:
Tell us the characters involved, is there a spanking going on or already happened, where, why, and with what implement?
It doesn't have to be perfect, just 55 words.
Limerics aren't as easy and the ryhming scheme is a little tricky, but once you get into the rythm, it's not so bad.
If you just can't come up with anything, don't worry. I plan to have another contest again soon, but I'm not sure what we'll do yet. |

It's the 25th now so I guess I better get busy and figure out who the winners are. If you posted to this thread, I'll just toss your name in for one of the paddles. The rest of you will be up for whatever prize you entered for.
I'm going to copy all the names of the entrants down on pieces of paper, one per entry, put them in a big bowl, and draw the winners tomorrow.
Yeah, I know, I'm using real state of the art equipment for picking the winners.

I'm just glad I didn't have to choose a winner by judging the entries. The entries we received were all excellent and I really enjoyed reading them all. So thank you to everyone who entered!
The drawings were done without bias so the outcome was completely fair. You can just ask Dan who watched me carefully writing down all the names, cutting up the strips, carefully folding them and putting them in the bowl, then snatching one out. I've got a mess to clean up at the moment but I'll contact the winners or if they wish, the winners can pm me with the shipping instructions as I'll be sending the prizes out asap.
Thanks again, everyone! And remember, we'll be doing this again in December since I have a couple more fun Alaskan souvenirs to give away. I'm not sure what the requirements for the next contest will be, so keep an eye on this area for the announcement.

Hmmmm I'm pretty sure it's hardwood but that's not what makes it such a fun toy. It's been coated with lots of varnish to give it that extra sting I know you'll enjoy. Heh.

OH. MY. GOD.
The oar arrived. I opened it with glee.
Humming happily, I proceeded to try to remove the shrink wrapped plastic. You know, the hard, shiny kind.
After a moment, I realized that the reason I couldn't find a seam was because the high gloss is VARNISH. Layers and layers of varnish.
Ok. It's only pine. Pretty light. And it's comfortable in the hand. I thought...ah, another lightweight toy. All show.
So, I gave myself a pretty good whack with it. Through khakis and panties, so no big deal, right?
Suddenly, I feel this spreading burn.
No, no, I think. This can't be coming from this little oar. It's actually NOT so little. The business end matches the size of the CB's business end, only it's not as wide.
So, being summarily stupid, I decide to recreate my experiment on the bare.
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything I've read about varnish is true. As if it didn't sting enough connecting (enough to make me expel breath)...a second later, what can only be described as a FIRE spread across my skin.
Now, I had heard that this oar had unbelievable sting...but not like this.
There is NO WAY I'm arming Squire with this thing. It's worse that the CB. Much much worse. I can only IMAGINE what it would feel like with both strength and leverage behind it.
I think it's just the thing to make a little boat out of. And watch it float away on Lake Ontario... |

UPDATE: Intervention Required.
Once intelligent woman now afflicted by a serious case of 'spankslutitis'. Not only did I enter the contest, pick up the prize at the post office, and then test it on myself...
I stuck it in our toybag. 
Last night, while getting ready for bed in the bathroom, I hear the unmistakeable sound of wood rattling together.
As we all know...that just CAN'T be good.
So...I met the oar. Interspersed with liberal doses of the VBB (hence the wood clunking sound), and the delron lined leather hairbrush paddle.
All of which made quite the impression, particularly in combination. There's nothing worse than that split second break you get while your love/tormentor is picking up the next implement...while , with teeth clenched and one eye slitted open, you listen for anything that might offer a clue as to what will next be making solid contact with your already hot bottom.
Bethie...I'm not sure I can put the right words together to thank you appropriately at this point. |
