I wrote this last year for the holiday, one of those stories that just comes to you all at once. I was watching a christmas concert and the story just unfolded in my head as I listened to the music. I wanted to share it with everyone here, I hope you enjoy it and that all your christmas wishes come true! For the millionth time that day Kelly McDonald swore to herself that if she lived through this holiday season, she would treat herself to a trip to Hawaii. Someplace warm, where people didn’t push and shove each other in the mall, where the incessant sound of Christmas carols didn’t drone on all day and where all the stress and pressure of her job as a waitress didn’t make her crazy. Her feet hurt, so did her back and she thought she was coming down with the flu. All she wanted to do was go home and take a hot shower before falling into bed. The fact that it was Christmas Eve didn’t factor in to her plans. Later that night, warm, clean and in her softest, comfy pajamas Kelly stretched out on the couch. She had “It’s a wonderful life” on the TV with the sound off, her feet propped on a pillow as she sewed a tear in her uniform she’d gotten just that day. One of the customers had tried to grab her ass, and when she jerked away the seam at the waist tore. Men, she thought, always trying to take what they wanted without asking what you would like. Just once she would like a nice man to pay her some attention, bring her a present and ask her what she would like to do. Was that too much to ask? Chuckling at her own flights of fancy, Kelly finished her repairs and put the mended skirt in the laundry basket to wash. Thankfully she didn’t have to go in to work until the late shift tomorrow, about the only Christmas present she was apt to receive. Kelly knew the years had made her bitter. She’d lost her parents when she was young, been bounced around the foster care system until she was old enough to hold a job. Since then it had been her against the world, more often than not a dog eat dog one at that. She made enough money to pay her bills, but not much more than that. She had a couple of girlfriends, but after a few disastrous relationships had decided to leave men strictly alone. Yes she was lonely, and had thought about getting a cat for company. But the man who owned the building she lived in hated animals, so having a pet was definitely out. Kelly remembered the kitten her parents had given her when she was eight, a soft bundle of yellow fur with a spot on his forehead that resembled a heart. When her parents had died suddenly she had been yanked from her home so fast that she hadn’t even been able to find her cat a new home. She hoped some kind family had adopted him, and that he had made another little girl as happy as he’d made her. She watched the end of the movie, and fell asleep while Rudolph and Kermie ran from the Abominable Snowman. Kelly never stirred when Scrooge cowered from Jacob Marley, or when the Grinch made off with the roast beast. And she merely sighed in her sleep as snowflakes began to fall outside her window, snowflakes that glowed with an unearthly light. They squeezed through the cracks around her window, swirling and dancing in delight, a miniature snowstorm that shimmered in one place until they coalesced into a large man in a red velvet suit. His boots were black, as was his wide leather belt and the suit was trimmed with the softest white fur. The only thing whiter was his silvery hair and beard. He shook himself like a dog sending snowflakes flying everywhere, but none of them landed on the rug or furniture, they simply vanished like magic. And they were magic, as was the big man in the red velvet suit. Santa Claus had come to pay Kelly a visit. Nick looked around Kelly’s neat, but undecorated apartment. There wasn’t a tree or wreath anywhere. No tinsel, bows, ornaments or garland, for it seemed that Kelly had completely forgotten how to enjoy Christmas. With a heavy sigh, Santa lay his hand on her shoulder, shaking her lightly and calling her name. Kelly woke slowly, then shrieked with alarm at seeing a stranger in her home. “Who are you? How did you get in here? I know I bolted both locks...what do you want?” Santa smiled at Kelly, his blue eyes twinkled in merriment. “Who do I look like Kelly? Don’t you remember me?” he said chuckling at her. “I know it’s been many years, but surely you haven’t forgotten Santa?” Kelly was all set to either run for the phone or scream for the cops, when something about this man’s eyes calmed her down. She instinctively knew he wanted the best for her, that he wouldn’t hurt her. When he sat down next to her on the couch, she smelled pine trees, peppermint and Christmas cookies. He was so much bigger than she that Kelly felt like a child again, and simply obeyed when he patted his thigh in invitation. She snuggled into his arms; her face buried in the soft fur of his coat and murmured “I’ve missed you Santa.” “Kelly,” Santa asked gently “why aren’t there any decorations in your apartment? No tree or stocking hung, no wreath or candles glow? Don’t you like Christmas any more?” Kelly hung her head like a little girl, unable to meet Santa’s knowing eyes. She knew he could see straight into her heart, and she was afraid of what he would find there. “Young lady,” he growled “look at me!” Kelly forced herself to look into his beautiful blue eyes, eyes that she expected to be reproachful or angry. Instead they shown with love and forgiveness, and the lump in Kelly’s throat grew until she burst into tears. Santa rocked her as she sobbed out her loneliness, her fears and her grief. He let her cry for a very long time, until she was reduced to sniffles and hiccups and playing with the white fur on his coat. Then he patted her back, and taking her chin in one large hand he brought her eyes back to his. “Now young lady,” he said with a twinkle in his eyes “you’ve been very naughty, haven’t you? And you know what happens to naughty girls, don’t you? DON’T YOU?” Kelly looked at him with her heart pounding in her chest. My God, she thought, he knows! She had missed the loving spankings that her father had handed out when she was little, and she’d thought many times that if someone cared enough to spank her again, she would be able to let go of the hurt and anger inside. Now she could only stare at Santa, her stomach full of butterflies and her heart in her eyes. As his eyebrows lowered menacingly, Kelly’s lower lip began to stick out and she twisted her fingers together nervously. Once again he asked her. “What happens to naughty young ladies who don’t behave Kelly?” And this time she had to answer him. “They get spanked sir.” “Good girl. And how do they get spanked young lady?” Santa grinned at her predicament, having to tell him her innermost thoughts. “They get put over someone’s lap Santa, their bottom bared and then spanked hard. But Santa,” Kelly said sulkily “I’m too old to be spanked!” Santa Claus laughed heartedly at the attitude Kelly was giving him. He knew she had been longing for some discipline in her life, for the feelings of love and trust that went hand in hand with being spanked. He was going to make sure that she didn’t forget this Christmas for a very long time. “Now Kelly, you know that’s not true. You’re never too old for a spanking. And you want and need this, so stop arguing with me and get over my lap....NOW!” Kelly jumped at that last booming command, and with one final sniff of reluctance she climbed off his lap and draped herself across his knees. She was swamped with long forgotten emotions, feeling that she was finally where she belonged after all this time. She shivered as Santa tugged down her pajama bottoms, knowing he was seeing her pale, naked backside in all its glory. Kelly squirmed with embarrassment, then jumped when Santa’s large hand came to rest on one cheek. “Now young lady,” Santa said with a smile in his voice “do you know why you’re getting this spanking?” “Yes sir,” a small, contrite voice replied “because I stopped celebrating Christmas and everything it means.” “That’s part of the reason Kelly. The other is because you have let life make you cold and hard inside, unwilling to take a chance or even try at a relationship again. I know you need love and I know you want children, but unless you open up to people again you will never achieve your desire. And so I’m going to spank the bitterness and anger from your heart, and when I’m done you will know I have forgiven you and you can forgive yourself and start anew. Do you understand me Kelly?” His only answer was a small sob, but Santa knew she agreed with him and so he proceeded to do as he had promised. Placing one hand in the middle of her upper back, he assured that she wouldn’t be able to move from her current position until he was good and ready. Rubbing Kelly’s bottom lightly, he waited for her to relax before bringing his palm down on her waiting cheeks with a resounding swat! She squeaked in surprise at the sting he had caused, then yelped at the next smacks he delivered. She had forgotten just how much a spanking could hurt, and Santa seemed to know exactly how to make her backside burn with just his hand. As her spanking continued, Kelly began to squirm over Santa’s knee, desperate for some relief from the punishment he was handing out. She “ouched” and squealed, tried putting her hand back to block his swats, but nothing she did had any affect and she realized she had no other choice but to lie there and take this spanking she so richly deserved. Santa seemed to know where each swat would sting the most, and he covered her entire bottom layering them one on top of the other. Kelly’s feet kicked wildly as she twisted over Santa’s knee, trying to get her bottom out from under his increasingly hard hand. She could feel pressure building in her chest, but refused to give in and cry. Santa could feel the stubbornness in Kelly’s body, but also knew she wasn’t that far from giving in to him. Humming to himself he rubbed her sore backside, grinning at her moan of relief and knowing it would be short lived.
