Ok...so Hubby's birthday was today - make his favorite dinner, dessert, and "something special". Now................
How come I got the spanks? LOL...not complaining, just sitting here with a nice warm bottom and a smile on my face...
Aren't birthdays fun?  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY...I LOVE YOU LOTS!

On Steve's last birthday I received his spanks and then my age in spanks as well. I complained a lot....but I really think its a great tradition.

That's one American custom that hasn't caught on over here in the UK for some reason. 
We do 'the bumps' which means that you are grabbed by your feet and hands and lifted into the air once for each year. I think I like your version better.
There MUST be someway of having it imported!!!!!

mmmmmm..I think I prefer our spanking "custom" to the bumps Gypsygirl!!  Why don't YOU start the birthday spanks?? I'll bet it would catch on real quick

It sounds like your Steve has been truely Americanised. I think us Brits know about the tradition but don't actually do it, not unless we're spankos of course.
And Birthday Spankings lead to another question, people say that women are prone to under-exagerate their age, would Birthday Spankings mean that we will start putting years on? Taking them off would be lying, so that should merit extra spanks, adding a few years on also means more spanks. I can't work out which one gets me more.

My husband is only 8 months older, so he will never forget my age. That said, I stopped aging about 10 years ago. I refuse to grow up!

Thinking about different customs in different countries, I've just had a terrible thought about the Queen of England. She has TWO birthdays. Her real one is in April and then she has an official one in June which is celebrated by a procession known as 'Trooping the colour' and we could interpret that however we want. But it gets worse. She is also the Queen of Australia, and for some reason most of Australia celebrate her official birthday in June but Western Australia does it in October. I think she could be a closet spanko.
See, some of our customs are very, very good.
