OHHH send to me ...not common around here .. no actually you could make a blueberry slush. unfortunatly I am not sure of all the messurements . believe its equal blueberries to vodka (not sure how many of berries)smash them up 1 bottle vodka or light rum sugar to taste . big ole Ice cream bucket to freeze it in till it turns slushy (alchol will keep it from freezing solid) when serving add 3/4 slush and 1/3 sprite (we normally do with strawberries) serve with a plastic spoon straw (I would use at leaste half and half berries to vodka its a margruita recipe if you want to look up messurements ...but I like mine more runny so I only add 1/4 slush to my cup (Message edited by blistering_blonde on July 01, 2006) He asked what I needed , timidly gave it at first, now he just knows.

Blueberries freeze really well and can last for most of a year. Pick them over well getting rid of any under-ripe ones or stems...then freeze them on cookie sheets. I store mine in freezer rated storage containers, not filling them all the way. They thaw out very quickly when you need them, and I have cooked them in muffins and pies when they were still a little frozen inside. Pies, muffins, coffeecake, blueberry buckle, cobbler, and smoothies. Throw some in a salad, or add to a sauce for duck or pork. Blueberries are very high in anti-oxidants and are very good for you. I'll go pick quarts of them when their finally in season up here. Mmmmmmmm.... If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. I was going to say muffins, but Wolfie beat me to it. Also, I like to throw whatever fresh fruit we have right on top of my cereal. Of course, now I'm wondering where *I* can get some! I know we have strawberry fields fairly nearby, maybe they'll know. Does spanking help tame Bridezilla tantrums? You bet it does! Lele

Another good way to cook them is to make syrup out of them.. I'm not sure how my gramma does it, but if you boil them (I think) they make a juice, and add a little bit of sugar for consistancy, and serve them over pancakes, waffles, ice cream. I will talk to my gramma and get the recipe.. syrup is also really good with strawberries, and huckleberries.
