I've been browsing on ebay--lots of inexpensive paddles (not that saving money is my main concern). But something tells me five bucks is TOO cheap. Has anyone purchased a paddle on ebay? Then there's the whole feedback thing to consider. |

I've purchased several spanking items on e-bay. I haven't bought any paddles that were that cheap...but I've seen a few. Check out the persons feedback and see what others have said. There just isn't a sure fire way to know if it is to cheap or not. |

I have used ebay a lot, but not for paddles - although I did check out "butter paddles" wow --- We have several paddles - leather and wood, but they were not $5.00 . I agree with Tammy - check out the feedback "Thought I WAS being a good girl...really I did!"

I have bought paddles on ebay and have been pleased with them. They are lighter implements. It's all a matter of perspective

Thanks for these responses! I may give it a try if I can find someone with good feedback. It feels a little riskier to order something through ebay though in terms of privacy. I THINK that some sellers can block an item from showing up in the buyer's feedback but I'm not sure. Too bad about Canadian sex stores! I just found a wonderful one run by very nice, friendly women. They don't have much for spankos though. |

I have a similar problem here in the UK - there are many places where spankos are frowned on - mostly, Brits are still so bloody prudish. It sucks. I've bought a couple of nice/nasty crops at our local Farming Supplies store. I only get away with it 'cos they know my DD rides |

I hope we get a chance to use it! The communication stuff is going really well, but with the kids around all the time no actual spanking is happening. |

I have bought several paddles from ebay, one was a 99 yr old fraternity paddle 6 bucks.. man does that one sting! Another, smaller paddle, made with quality feels kind of like a hairbrush, same size shape ( I become email penpals with this seller,, gREAT person..) I convinced him to make a paddle with holes, copied and pasted an expensive paddle to him, I now have the prototype... hallelujah.. you ane gonna want one of these. From another seller I purchased a vintage racquet ball paddle , wooden with holes.. I absolutely HATE this one,, too heavy and stings like heck... I keep threatening to throw it out! lol... good luck bidding A woman`s heart may be filled with an ocean of secrets but mine have all been released and I have a sore bottom to prove it!

Okay, it came and I guess I got what I paid for! The leather is pretty cheap and the sides of the handle are rough so it isn't all that comfy to hold. Not that I'll be holding it but still. It's cute though. Heart shaped. I don't think I want to start my husband out with a scary looking implement. |

I've found that their's a lower quality in things you buy in a sex store anyhow. Like I know my favorite store (only 1000 miles away from me ) sells riding crops for 35 dollars (US) whereas if you go to a tack shop, you can get them for 12-20. They seem to be more built to last at a tack shop. but then, you can't buy paddles there. I'd agree, read the feedback and definitely check the shipping. You get that all the time on e-bay. An "amazing deal" but then ridiculous shipping. It's how professional sellers compensate for offering such cheap items. :/ |

They sell some stuff that you can use on new cowboy boots to soften the leather. Sorry but I can't remember what it is called. Saddle soap might work also. Good Luck with it. |

I love ebay but you really should be careful about what you buy there. To be honest, for leather goods you should save up and buy quality products. I like a good bargain as well as anyone, but when it comes to my leather toys, I've always been better off spending the money and buying from an established fetish site. The one exception I've found is if you want a good riding crop, then you need to go to a good tack shop. I guess that's to be expected though. I've gotten some great stuff from JT's Stockroom, Extreme Restraints, and Leather Thorn Paddles. I love my lovely rose paddle from John at Leather Thorn (leatherthornpaddles.homestead.com). It's a great beginner's paddle as well as wonderful for gg spankings. |

I think I'll hold off on the cheap leather purchases in the future. The paddle just isn't sensual at all and leather really ought to be! Of course we may never get to use ANY paddles. I was really looking forward to this week--both kids were supposed to be out of the house during the day--but we had to ground one of them. Arrgghhh. |

I am so sorry, I know just how you feel. I had wonderful plans for the weekend, and then ended up with 10 (yes that is TEN) kids here. My poor husband gave up and went to a football game. I am so glad school is starting back and that we saved a couple of vacation days. We are planning some mini-vacations right here at home. 8 wonderful kid free hours, plus he'll actually be getting paid to stay home and spank me What a wonderful life! |

10?? TEN!!???#$@@! Both of my kids live 1800 miles away (both are grown now) Daughter moved in Oct, and son moved in Nov...I found it hard with the one in the house (and half the time he was never home - ahhh, the life of a 23 year old!) I can not possibly fathom 10!!! You are a saint!! I hope hubby took all of them to the game with him!! Glad to hear you will have some "mini" vacations at home - sometimes those are the best! Nope he deserted me the scoundrel and most of them were teenagers. I have them at home ranging from 5-15 yrs. old. My house or rather my back yard seems to be the hang-out of choice at the moment, but that is OK at least that away I know where they are at and who they are with! But man am I looking forward to those vacation days |

Only implement I've bought on eBay was a long-handled bathbrush. At the time, it was the only one I could find that was a single piece of wood, and its one of my favorite implements. As you slide down the banisters of life may the splinters never point the wrong way. Old Irish Proverb

Always check the shipping on eBay, and keep in mind that eBay will pull ANY auction with BDSM or any references to BDSM in it (often including adult spanking). So sometimes you have to be a little creative when you look. |

Oh also, when checking out someone's eBay feedback, not only is their % important (keep in mind that no one can really avoid negative feedback), what is more important to me is how they DEAL with negative and/or neutral feedback they've received. If they spazz out, call the bidder/seller names, etc, sometimes it is best to move on. I've been selling/buyinig on eBay since the Spring of 1999, so don't mind me. I can spout off about it for ages. :D |

I also like to look for patterns in feedback, particularly the negatives. I had a bad experience with a seller...got an item that wasn't the same as what was originally listed. I'd only looked at his feedback percentage, which was in the high 90s considering he'd received several thousand feedbacks in total. However, after getting the bad item, I found at least 6 other buyers who'd been sent the exact same misrepresented item I had (I did of course include the item numbers for these in my "Item Not Received" complaint with eBay). I've had a lot of experience buying and selling on ebay. This site is open to nearly everyone so therefore you take a chance in buying anything. Whatever you do you will always be taking a chance. My advice is to research any item you want and then look on ebay.Sometimes ebay is not the cheapest site though.Always check feedback and try not to pay by cash or cheque.Use Paypal. It's a lot better. |

I do a lot of buying on ebay as well. I've only had a couple of problems and got my money back both times. Feedback is important but sometimes you still get taken even with good feedback. You have to decide how badly you want something. Sometimes you just have to take a chance!! |

I bought two paddles on EBAY. One ended up at $8 plus shipping and the other $5 plus shipping. The oak hairbrush paddle was good quality, heavy and packs an incredible sting. My husband's new favorite implement. The leather paddle was not all that great, too light and not comfortable. I would purchase from the first guy again anytime though |
