This week our small town has hosted its annual county fair. We had several rides, which the kids we took with us attempted to talk me into riding with them. LOL I did buy tickets to ride two rides, the kids had armbands, $15.00 each, WHEW county fairs are getting expensive. But us adults enjoyed walking around and watching their faces as they went round and round, up and down, and sideways. LMAO My twins (neice and nephew), haven't been on many rides and of course nephew was more courageous than my neice. But then again he had his girlfriend with him, so I guess he couldn't have backed down if he had wanted to. I enjoyed munching on cotton candy and playing an inexpensive game, where I won myself a small alligator, and my neice and her friend a big puppy dog each. They were thrilled. Hubby was going to play the shooting games, but we stood by watching and of course hardly any of the guns available shot straight. We like to know we have a fair chance of winning before paying that much for a game. $5.00 to $10.00 each game. All in all it was 3 hours(at the fair) of fun, followed by a trip to Wal-Marts and then to McDonalds. We got home after 11pm. Doesn't sound very late, but when you have to work the next morning it is late. LOL But I wouldn't have missed it for anything. It had been 8 years since I lasted attended our county fair. So it was very well worth it, and if we go next year, this gal is purchasing an armband and riding all the rides. Well not the ones that turn you upside down anyway. Hope when the fair/carnival comes ya'lls way you will attended and have lots of fun. "Success in almost any field depends more on energy and drive than it does on intelligence." Sloan Wilson

I love Country Fairs!! I used to sell crafts at a local fair every year. I stay off the rides...they make me sick. I guess thats a sign of age. I love looking at the different booths of stuff. Sounds like you had a nice day!! |

I used to attend county fairs all the time in Oklahoma. Now in England, they have "fetes" but nothing like the fairs. And as a matter of fact...I LOVE rollercoasters!! Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.
