I came very close to not believing in Christmas angels, or the whole Christmas season for that matter...... You see - the 2006 year was a difficult one for me - my Dad passed away in January, my Mom had a severe fall in Feb and spent 68 days in a rehabilitation center (she is fine now), I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery (and am doing ok now)........ Then...............a severe blizzard in Colorado! Why does this effect me? Well, my children live there, and as of this morning, neither one seemed to be able to make it home for Christmas. I was devastated to say the least - all flights were cancelled. Until 2PM today!! My son is on a 10PM flight tonight - and so is my daughter!!! I am thrilled beyond words - and just wanted to share this good news with all of you in the Den. Guess the only empty chair this year will be my Dad's - but I think that he might just be my special Christmas angel Happy Holidays everyone~~

I'm so happy for you Pinky! Like you, 2006 has been very difficult for me. Trying to get through probate for my mothers will, attempting to sell the house so I can move and then coming way too close to death with blood clots in both lungs in July. Im still struggling with it all emotionally and trying to get my physical self back to as normal as possible for me. My brother has been working in Utah, and I dont know if he will make it home for christmas, and a girlfriend who is coming to spend the holiday with me is stranded in Philadelphia. Could I borrow your angel for a bit Pinky? I could use a little help.

I am sending this angel to you Wolfie - so that the both of us can have a joyous Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year~~ Both of my children are here with me now and I can't begin to describe the love, contentment, and joy I feel in my heart. When my daughter came down that ramp, you would have thought the two of us had not seen each other in YEARS! We hugged and cried...then hugged and cried somemore! I can TOTALLY relate to the emotional side of a tragic year, but I think the two of us will be just fine in 2007 Wolfie --- the angel told me so! And a special hug to you Buenaventura for your kind words - I wish you a wonderful holiday season too! "Do I have to be good ALL the time?"

Thank you Pinky and BV... My friend finally got here around 4:30 this afternoon, although who knows where her luggage is. Pink, we probably were in the same bulding at the same time! If only we'd known! Hopefully her luggage will be delivered sometime tonight, otherwise we will be trying to fit a tall slender woman in a short chunky one's clothing. Buenaventura, I was worried too...although at the time I didnt know how dire things were. I think I was more freaked out afterwards...but thank you for your kindness. Pink, I'll borrow your angel...perhaps he can get my brother home as well. Here's hoping we both have an excellent 2007, with no more drama to worry about.

I know all about the snow in Colorado...two of my kids are there as well. They were supposed to spend Christmas with me. We meet in Kansas City and there was no way they could leave Denver. So now instead of a week with them I get a day and half for New Years. I cried for two days. My son said all he wanted for Christmas was to be with me. I'm glad everything is getting better for both you Pink and Wolfie. (Message edited by tammynx on December 24, 2006) |

Dec 27th and I just said goodbye to my daughter who is traveling back to Colorado today - it was wonderful to have her here, and hard to see her go (but Hubby and I will be going out there in 3 months, so its not that bad). My darling son will be home until Jan 2nd (but being 24 years old, he is NEVER home ....lol....) Hope all of you have a wonderful holiday - and enjoy the upcoming New Year - stay safe "Do I have to be good ALL the time?"
