Hello everyone, Ready to hear about my fight to have a new computer? The laptop I had was a freinds, so I returned being tax time and I figured I would get new one. I bought one at walmart, get it home and realize someone else had owned it before me. After arguing with walmart and being outraged that they left someone else's personal information on a computer, I got my money back and I then decided to wait til Vista came out. I waited and waited for my friends to get it. They have had nothing but problems and the only security you can get for it is Norton which is moving dll files around confusing the computer. So now what? I was given a tower by another friend. It had been in his closet for years but it was only used for about 8 months and I warned it moved slower than a turtle. So I plug it in and realize my friend only knows where the power buttons are on a computer. This poor thing had almost 1000 temorary internet files and almost that in other cookies. No wonder it ran so slow. As I put it to him it had more cookies in it than cookie monster has ever eaten. So after two days fixing the poor computer I realize it doesn't have an internal modem. I go off and buy one for 20 dollars and has I happily go to install it I removed the sidecover and was attack by a million dust ware rabbits, these things were no way bunnies. Then after the dust cleared and I stop sneezing and cleaned her up I noticed one of the ram cards had came loose. So I plugged it back in install the modem and plugged it back in. Well it of course wasn't that simple cause after about 8 hrs I diaganosis the problem the ram card was bad and after couple of system restores I got it back to the way I had it and installed the software for the modem. So this poor thing is only running on 128mbs of ram but it is better than nothing. I ordered a 512mbs of ram I figured I might as well updated it to something decent. I guess it isn't that bad so far I have only invested a little over 60 dollars for it. I just happy to have a computer again even if it does move only slighly faster than a turtle til the card comes in. And I can only run one program at a time but I am not complaining by any means. Anyways I missed you guys and I will catch up with you later. To live life without pulling your hair out, you must find humor in the day somewhere. Without humor we would all just go crazy.
