I just have a quick question for some of you more experienced spankers/spankees out there. As I've stated before, I'm pretty new to this, and due to the difficulty I have of getting privacy with my fiance, we haven't had much practice. That being said, my boss was away last weekend meaning that the office would definately be empty. We decided to take advantage. My attitude is when you don't get many chances, use any ones you get to the fullest, so I told him to grab as many implements to try out as possible. He took his belt and a ping-pong paddle (as well as his hand, of course). It was a good learning experience, but also showed us our inexperience. In the middle of it, I noticed that one side of my bottom hurt a lot more than the other. At the time, I was equally red on both sides, and my fiance thought I was being a baby and teased me about it. The next day, that side had a big ugly bruise about the size of a pancake on it which is still there. My question is this: do you know how to cause the maximum sting with the least amount of bruising? A little bruise here and there is fine, but this one covers practically a quarter of my behind, and it's sore to boot. Not the stingy sort of sore I like, but the "I slipped on ice and busted my butt" sore that I really hate! Any advice? |

A LONG warm up might help........and my best quess is that the belt is what might have caused the bruising. If the ping pong paddle was wood, then that added to the bruising as well. You may have been equally red on both sides, but I'll bet that his "swats" may have been concentrated on one cheek. Hubby and I have found that a long warm up with his hand, and the use of a leather paddle eliminates bruising- and it certainly depends on the LENGTH of the spanking as well. Also, hubby likes to alternate the implements - starts with the hand, paddle, hand....etc. You might also want to try Arnica lotion after a spanking. **I am sure others will give you some great advice too** "Do I have to be good ALL the time?"

Thanks for the advice! I'm not sure what texture the paddle is. It's made of wood, but the actual paddle part of it has this rubbery type of padding that's just a bit springy to the touch. He gave me the most amount of swats with that. The belt was actually the one used the least. He only gave me about ten with that and not all at once. By the time we got to the belt, I was noticing the pain on my one cheek and it just felt too severe. I don't know about what effect his hand had. Is it possible to get bruised from just straight hand-spanking (i.e. no punching, just regular open palm smacks)? Also, what is Arnica lotion? |

Yes it is possible to be bruised after a hand spanking, that is why warm up is necessary. Most spankers have a tendency to be drawn towards a specific area and also to spank the cheek that is further from the spankers body (mostly with the OTK position) Arnica is a homeopathic remedy that comes in lotions, creams and tablets. It is very good for bruising especially before the actual bruise appears or at the first signs of bruising. It is my personal experience that a longer but not as severe spanking leaves the longest sting. Queen of Innocence "Well behaved woman rarely make history"

I'll have to look into it, thank you. The belt on the other hand, is always something I had wanted to try, but every time we do, disaster strikes. He'll miss and hit my lower back, for example, which is really unpleasant, or it'll wrap around and hit the front or side of my thigh, which usually means instant bruise. Is there a safer approach? or is the belt just a dangerous tool in general? |

My husband uses his belt most of the time. I don't get hit on the lower back or inside of my thigh though. I guess it has to do with how much experience the Spanker has with an implement. If the belt is really long even folded in half...I could see how easily wrap around can happen. Just keep trying a little at a time. The more you practice the easier it will get. I really think that without experience or without having practiced any implement can be dangerous. Take things slow at first and it will all fall into place!! |

I agree with the others about warm ups and I have to second Tammy's advice about the belt. Practicing on a pillow can help him develop his aim, if he's willing to go that route. Good luck! |

well we had a good argument last night and since his parents are out of town, we're going to have his house to ourselves. He says he's gonna "warm my ass good" tonight. I'm not sure what that means, but I don't think it involves wooly underwear. I'll let you know if there's any belt action and how it goes. |

Hi Zin ~ here are my two cents I really like leather but I found out two things about belts: one is that they should be cut according to the size of your bottom and how much he needs to fit comfy in his hand; second one is that there is a lot less danger of missing or wrapping if you are placed face down flat on the end of a bed (you have to lay so that his dominant hand is convenient to your behind). Hope this info helps.} |

If you got one single fairly massive bruise I suspect that one strike was responsible - with a single small blood vessel being damaged which then "leaks" blood into the surrounding tissue giving one big briuse. This will take up to a week to go through the purple blue green yellow fading. Ok so what went wrong - well, as inexperienced as you are you are playing fairly heavy - ten with a belt on top of paddling and hand spanking is definitely not light play. I suspect aim and technique need work. Also need to work on communication - you need to be able to kick scream and protest yet still communicate real problems like you had in a way he will hear the difference. Most commonly discussed way is safewords - but lots of tops are really using experience to read their bottom's body language and movements. Suggest you discuss having safewords or hand signals or something until he is able to read you better. Keep in mind, if I am right about your bruise, the damage was done on one stroke so stopping play would not prevent it, just not make it any worse. If the strikes feel thuddy - ie they physically are moving your bodymass with each blow then deeper bruising will result vs stingy slaps that disapate the energy in the skin. The difference fron the spanker's point of view is the speed of the implement vs follow through - high speed with no follow through gives sting and minimal deep bruising, (think slap) while lower speed but follow through with weight behind it gives thud with deeper bruising (think punch) The implement also determines thud vs sting - with heavier or more solid things giving thud and thinner lighter things giving more sting at the same impact speed. Of course it is possible to swing light thin things faster and hence get thud out of them too. I like sting so we like wooden spoons, hair brushes (which can deliver thud too lol) and floggers with rubber fells. For pure sting some use elastic bands - held on the skin with one hand and pulled back and snapped repeatedly with the other, (but you don't want marks, scratch the elastic bands lol.) Last point - wrapping. This is a term for the behaviour of a flexible striking implement to bend at the tip and deliver more than expected impact at that point. I will not belabour the physics which concerns conservation of angular momentum but the point is this - a flexible mass that strikes a curved surface bends around the surface with the velocity of the end of the mass increasing well above the original impact velocity. Simply put the implement wraps around the curve and concentrates much of the energy in one point at the tip. Since the curve in question here is your ass, and the tip lands on the thin skin of your hip, wrapping can be pretty startling. It has its uses and is not all bad, but inadvertent wrapping has ended more scenes than just about anything else that can go wrong. Again the issue here is experience and aim. Best bet to start is to keep the distance to target such the end of the implement will not reach far enough to wrap, but keep in mind that the spanker reaches out further during the strike. Hope that helps - (advice is worth what you pay for it) Regards, Peter Grimm |

I'll certainly keep all those great tips in mind. That time when I got the bruise was the only time we did so much at once. Usually it's a few whacks at a time, and if there are lots of them in one day, they're very spread out. I did notice the issue with the belt in that it seems to hurt a lot where-ever the tip of the belt strikes and not so much anywhere else. I prefer it when there is sting over a greater surface area as opposed to concentrated on one spot. On the subject of hair brushes, I'm on my fourth one. Any advice on how to keep from breaking them? It's getting tougher to explain why I keep needing new ones to my sisters. Granted, my hair is long and thick and I've broken many-a-brush in it, but never so many in so short a period of time. |

Geez - you are breaking hair brushes on your ass!?!?!? You need either a better quality brush, or a higher intensity implement. Original post said you liked sting - OK you get sting from thin light objects travelling at high speed - cane, crops, cats, quirts and whips. I have a very nice rubber flogger made from square rubber strips about 3/32" square from bungee cords that is very stingy and nearly unbreakable LOL About thirty strips 20" long mounted in a 8 inch wooden handle (Easy to make or you can buy similar items - happy to post instructions if interested.)
