I was just curious to see how many submissives have older doms or how many doms are older than their submissives. I am going to be 20 in a few weeks and my dom is 28. I think him being older than me helps me feel more protected and guided because he has more experience with the "real world" and knows what I need to steer clear of. Does anyone else feel this way? |

I don't really think age has much to do with it...
My husband is a year younger than me...but he has never failed to guide me and I always feel protected. |

I agree with Tammy - age has nothing to do with it. Hubby is only a couple weeks older than I am, not enough to make any sort of difference.
Life is short. Eat dessert first.

My Dan is younger than me and he's always made me feel safe, protected, and thoroughly submissive. I've been in this lifestyle for years (won't say how many as that's telling), and I've almost always had doms my age or younger. That's just the way my tastes run, btw.
For me, it's all about a man's personality, not the number of years he's been on this earth. I've met wannabe doms who were much older and tried to use that to convince a much younger me that their age made them wiser and their experience made them better than a younger man, but the truth was that they couldn't dom their way out of a wet paper bag.
Some men are born doms and it doesn't matter what age they are or what experience level they're at, they're doms through and through. If a man is a dom in his head and heart, that's all that really matters. |

I have had older doms and younger doms... I knwo for me the age never made a difference. As long as they could handle my stubborn ass it was alllll good. Well..not for my butt usually HA HA HA |

Shylah, I know the only reason you can make such comments about your husband is that he is the only one who can keep you in line. Age has nothing to do about it!
That said, I think what matters is respect, not age. I have to respect anyone I would accept as a dom.

Tammy, i answered Vixies question, with a yes because a top older than me is all i know. I didn't mean for it to sounds as if i thought a "good dom" had to be older.
After reading what Bethie said about "Some men are born doms, If a man is a dom in his head and heart, that's all that really matters."
As well as the other posts on this subject.
I agree with that. I think a dom is the way he is because of being a dom, not age.
But in "my personal" experience i only know what i have lived.
Sorry for the confussion.
