I have never tried this, but have heard that the rod from the mini blinds is HARSH! (quiet too)

My hubby likes to use dowell rods. They come in different sizes depending on how stingy you want them. Like mini blind rods they are quiet. |

Clotheshanger - just unfold and straighten the wire then make one 180 bend in the middle so the two wires form a loop about 1" apart - tape the ends together with coloured tape to make a pretty handle.
Be careful in use - it is easy to cut skin with this.
Course one can always lay right into it and break the skin and then apply lemon juice or alcohol... Depends how much sting you want!
In general thinner lighter and faster moving implements have more sting.
Has anyone here direct experience with Horsehair floggers? I have heard the roughness of the hairs cause a lot of sting by micro-abrasion with minimal bruising. Maybe they are more the sort of thing Kate is looking for? |

Thanks so much- most every toy I own makes a loud thud and leaves bruising. I needed something quiet and stingy. Tried a plastic flyswatter but did not sting much to me. We have wooden shutters so using the attachement would make it expensive and difficult to replace if accidently broken. Next time at a hotel I'm sure Petruchio will be happy to test one with me.
I bought a crappy useless flogger at an adult store last Friday... ugh! Why sell something that does not work?

Yeah Buena, I figured as much  I am a texan... I just do not know how to go about entering a riding store for THAT! I don't think I can freak out an 'ole cowboy but there is no guarntee on that some pimply teen won't be minding the store the day I chose to shop there. How you pretend to be just checking out whips for a non existant horse? When asked what your looking for what have others said? I'd honestly come on out with my intention to any male attendant over 40 so they could help me without the B.S. but under that age, no way.

Heck, just go on in, saunter around feeling up the chinch straps on the saddles, swish all the crops and buggy whips - with authority like you were going to be on the delivery end, try on the chaps (wonder aloud how low the belt will ride on your hips without your jeans...
Don't forget to check out all the hardware - bits, bridles, snap rings, training leads and such. Ask the odd question like "Will this hold a 150 pound live load?"
The clerk may know exactly why you buy the whip - but believe me, the pimple faced teen won't DARE say a word and you will likely leave him or her with some interesting fantasies!!!

to correct some possible misconceptions....
1) Kate - due to similar issues facing store clerks in Adult stores and Tack shops, I buy most of my toys at the dollar store (No, NOT just because I am cheap!!) And the Hardware store - Yeah! Hardware stores are the best!
2) Badgirl - while I may know about things like clotheshanger implements and lemon juice I am much too lightweight to actually use same, let alone be on the receiving end!!!! Evil Peter? - nah! Well if you are really cheap, skip the dollar store, go outside and cut a couple of switches off the trees. Those really sting and they are very quiet. The only problem is that I am not quiet when I am on the receiving end of the switch--oh well, i guess that is what a gag is for.

Sorry Kate, don't have any idea on this one. We don't get to do a lot of spankings and when we do it is usually by hand, wooden hairbrush, or paddle.
Never had a switch or whip used on me. And not about to give hubby the idea of the mini blind rod. NOPE NOT A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

an electric light cord is very quite, and very effective, I know, my girl friend uses one on me, and believe me I respect her and that electric cord, I have done the dance after one of her treatments with the e.l.c. and it is hard standing still in the corner after a seeion with one. thanx |

I can rememebr when I used to go to play partys we had this pack of Kabob skewers and you could give them a slight bend to make them POP.. Yeouch those stung.

This may be just a duplication, but I just got two of the 'whippy' plastic rods from venition blinds, tried them lightly on my blue jean covered leg and could not believe the sting I got from a light snap. If you want stingy, that's the ticket. Don't know if I'm going to share this one or not. There's an awful lot of sting there.

A quiet implement would be what is called the loopy johnny or what my DOM likes to call the LJ. It's quiet, most effective and easily concealed in one's pocket or purse. It's very stingy...I might add that I HATE it! |

My hubby bought a long, felixible, nylon coated horse whip in the equestrian department. It is EVIL. It will break the skin very easily so beware. I agree that dowell rods are very effective and quiet. Many whips pack a quite a sting and are quiet. Try looking for Floggers & viper tail whips.

I once had a birching it stung lik ethe dickens and I was by no means silent. So I gues sthat kinda makes it not quite. I agree yoou should try the dollar stores or the hardware store. I once heard about sopmeone using a broken antennea. I think that would sting. |

Hehe believe me Petruchios_untamed_kate , you will NOT be the first person to purchase an item at an equestrian/feed store that knows jack sh*t about horses. My Husband randomly stopped at one a while back while we were taking a drive and drug me in there with Him. I stood next to Him very quietly, blushing, & looked at the floor while He was taking stock of the merchandise. When He went up to purchase the riding crop He found, the clerk gave Him a HUGE ear to ear grin and asked my Husband if He was training a horse(the clerk was looking directly at me as he asked this) and then flashed me a smile too.

I think a few have been mentioned already...but peppermint oil I've heard can keep the sting going.
Off hand I'd say cinnamon oil should have a sting effect as well....but I haven't tried it.
I'd test a few before I went all out though. |

I think a lexan paddle stings as much as anything. Due to its density, it need not be very thick. In fact, thinness adds to its flexibility. If the paddle is designed with a narrow handle like a 14 or 16 inch bath brush, it will flex nicely with the final snap of the wrist. The thinner paddles also don't bruise nearly as much, if at all.
Most Lexan paddles are thicker than need be. 3/16 or 1/4 inch is quite enough if there is enough length and a slightly flexible handle.
And, of course, it stings even more on a wet bottom. If alcohol is used in a mister, it will increase the sting, which will start long, long before any skin damage occurs. Cornhuskers lotion is a mixture of glycerine and alcohol, and is fun to rub in, and stays moist longer. Additionally, it keeps the skin pliable so less damage occurs.
If the spankee is lying flat on a bed or bench, the bottom will be resiliant and the bottom will conform to the flat surface of the paddle, increasing the even-ness of the impact, making damage even less likely, but the sting is enhanced.
A martinet with tails of 1/8 OD clear vinyl tubing is also deliciously stingy. It has the added advantage of reaching into the inner cheeks quite well, if only the near cheek is struck from the side or if it is used from above if the subject is kneeling or otherwise spread. The tips should not be cut off square, but should be cut on a steep angle to prevent too much concentration of force at the tips. This allows longer use with less damage. |

I have two flyswatters, plastic ones with metal handles. Believe me, after a handspanking I can only take a few swats with those things. The sting is incredible and it just gets worse and worse! Ive used them on a male switch friend of mine and even he could only take a small dose.
A plastic ruler is also quiet but ultra stingy.

in England we have a weed that grows in the summer called a nettle that stings if you touch it.
this is great on the bum or breasts, in moderation.
it's best used fresh, so this combines well with another of my partialities, being spanked in the open air.

The draw rod on mini blinds is usually Plexiglas. It can break, and will usually leave a sharp edge when it does so.
Lexan, either is solid rods or tube is super tough, and has about the same density. We find solid plastic a little heavy for our preferences, and use Lexan tubing instead. Being lighter, the tubing bruises less.
But, with reference to the topic of this thread, we feel it stings less than some of our other toys.

A leather belt isn't very quiet, but from my experience it STINGS LIKE HELL!
We also have a flogger I've made from a large number of plastic/rubber cords nailed to a handle made from part of a broom handle. It stings like pepper and isn't very noisy. |

The birch!!!! Take a number of long switches (10-15) and tie them together into a birch rod. The spanker doesn't need to use it hard to make you go crazy from the stinging. The only implemnet that really made me bawl my eyes out as an adult. The last time was in a therapy-like situation. |

A Southern style Switching
If your aim is to punish a woman when you are away from home or have house guests and want it to be serious and very, very quiet, there is nothing that works better than a thin, keen switch. I do not mean a cane like stick but one pliable, whippy switch. When rapidly applied to the lower quarter of a bare bottom with sharp, precise, wrist snaps the punishment can be anything from very embarrassing and uncomfortable to tearful, towel biting agony. Do it correctly and you have a three inch strip of red/raw skin that a bathing suit will cover the next day.
You can cut an acceptable switch almost anywhere and at any time of the year. There is no need to carry one in your luggage. Also you can sit in the hotel room, drink a beer and watch the game while she is out trying to discreetly cut a switch to redden her bottom with. |

I have been spanked with just about anything my husband could ever get his hands on. Flyswatters sting but not the worst. Blinds rod stings pretty bad! The switch and the worse hanger are my husbands favorites for quiet punishments but it's very hard for me to be quiet. My Dom whips long and hard so the sting builds up till my legs and butt feel on fire! Received both of these many times around people and they never knew |

I second the motion that flyswatters, wood dowels/canes, switches, and clothes hangers sting like crazy. Other of my unfavorite flogging tools are electric lamp cord, knotted clothesline rope, or phone charging wire. All of these implements are relatively quiet, but very stingy if used properly/safely.
Are there other suggestions out there? |

My MIL uses a clothesline about 3 feet long folded in half and she has taped the end together to make a handle. Stings like hell, and quiet .... its quiet I can promise you I am not while getting my ass and thighs spanked with this. |
