Hi! 
I am new to this forum and am very happy to have found such a well-moderated and friendly site which addresses these topics.
I chose the name paranoidspankee because for many, many years I wondered why I had consensual spanking fantasies. I'd ask, "What's Wrong with Me? Do I hate myself? Why do I want this kind of couple dynamic with hubby?"
Finally (within the last year), I purchased some good books on this lifestyle  and got a very basic education. Wow, did I feel different about myself (in a positive way) after that! 
The most difficult part was asking hubby to "do that." He thought it was silly at first. Rather than go through the whole story, I'll just say that hubby DOESN'T think it's "just plain silly" anymore:

But now I worry, "Can other people tell? And what if I accidentally click to the wrong site and some government official, or worse yet, television news magazine dude shows up at the door?"  As ridiculous as this may sound, I really do concern myself with such things.

 Paranoid, hello and welcome to the forum!
I understand how paranoia can sneak up on you, but I honestly don't think you'll ever need to worry about anyone showing up at your door for hanging around here. We're just a bunch of kinky adults talking about our adult kinks. Nothing wrong with that!  |

I especially liked your description of the evil rubber spatula  . One of my favorite fanfiction (television) authors incorporated that implement into one of her (NC-17 rated) pieces; I never knew (until now!) why our gorgeous leading man chose this particular implement in order to administer a very special spanking on his lovely sub's poor derriere!

Congratulations on finding a way to enjoy this kink with hubby! And of course, welcome to the Den... Lots of nice people here, I found.
And you should know that you are not alone in your paranoia. I understand completely. But I have been here almost 2 years, and no one has come a-knocking.  So, I am feeling a little more secure
