 I know that's what I've been doing! The weather is lovely and I just want to be out and about. But I thought I'd better check in anyway.
So what have ya'll been doing?
I've just been enjoying the sunshine and catching up on my reading. The weather has been awesome...finally!  |

I have been trying to recover from an horse accdent that happen about 7 week ago. Went to the Dr a week ago and he said that it's still a fresh so he isn't going to treat it yet, so the pain I am in isn't anything to worry about. Which seems strange to me. The marks are gone, but the swelling is still there, and I am still in need of pain meds and meds to keep the swelling down. So spanking for me  And worse yet, no horse back riding, and it's finally nice enough to actually go out and ride! |

Ladykayra, I'm sorry you've been injured and I hope you get better soon! Take care of yourself. 
Btw, I don't know what kind of injury you have, but if you doubt your doctor or you're just not comfortable with his approach, you should consider getting a second opinion. I don't know, maybe he's right, but I'd be worried after 7 weeks. |

wow......its been FOREVER since I have visited the Den!!!!! LOTS and LOTS of new "faces". I have been very busy with life in general and like Bethie, when the weather is nice hubby and I are out and about as much as we can. Just took a 6 day trip out to Colorado to run a 10K race - what fun!!!!!!
Hope everyone is well~~ I'll try to visit more often~~

I think we may have been in Colorado at the same time!! I hadn't seen my mother in 3 years so I went for a visit.
I've been working LOTS...but still I'm enjoying the great weather as well. |

I was 20 minutes east of Boulder!! Boulder is beautiful.
Thats so great that you ran in the Boulder Boulder...I always wanted to but never did. |

Sorry I haven't been on much lately. I've been BUSY BUSY with a special project that is coming up next weekend so I'm going to be out of pocket till then. I'll try to get caught up when it's all over. Plus...I'm STILL trying to get everything settled in the new house!
Where DID all this stuff come from??????

I'm not enjoying the summer much as I live in the center-south coastal region of Israel (Rehovot to be exact) and its very, very hot here (30 degrees centigrade, sometimes even more), especially in the sun, and the sun is quite searing. I kinda like Israel's mild, somewhat rainy winters when I could breath freely and sweat far less.

WEll...I'm EXHAUSTED!
I have come to the conclusion that I'm too old for anything that requires running...walking...sitting...BREATHING!
I had a good weekend though and the event I organized came over very well. Had about 700 people attend.
So if you will excuse me...I'm off to lay in bed and read a book. If I can keep my eyes open long enough.

Unluckily this week wasn't one of them. If it's not one thing, it's another. This week Dan and I were sharing the stomach flu. It's been a baaaad week. We're almost well now though. Yay. |

OK peeps!
I'm trying to quit smoking. It's HARD.
I have gum and hard candy and stuff all over the house trying to keep from lighting up. I am on a program from the Dr. so I'm not doing it cold turkey. I don't have enough will power for that.
Wish me luck cos it's really difficult.
The reason is that I just got news that my uncle has terminal lung cancer and in one kidney. Also a good friend...almost like a brother...also has lung cancer.
I took it as a wake up call.
I'm quitting.
I just keep thinking to myself...think of the money I'm gona save on tobacco.

My summer sucks...we had to postpon(spelling??sorry) our vacation to Guatemala!!!!!! I am so mad, it has been exactly one year since we have been with BV and his girlfriend, and we really miss them.

I've started the Zyban pills. They are supposed to wean you off gradually. So far no side effects I can feel. I'm not smoking so much today. So they must be working.

 Good for you, Shylah!!! I know it's hard, as I work with addictions and many say it's harder than either cocaine or heroin. Keep at it tho. No matter how long you have smoked, quitting is always a good thing for you health.

Where have I been??? You ask???
I've been FRIGGIN camping! In the friggin rain and a leaky friggin tent for a friggin week!! I'm friggin tired and NEVER...I repeat...NEVER....NEVER...NEVER...NEVER again will I EVER go camping again in a tent. It will be in my camper or you can friggin FORGET ME GOING!!!
END OF STORY...NO..NADA...NEVER!!!!
Oh and the stop smoking???....
That went out the window on the second day at the friggin camping when it started to rain hard and rained hard for 21 hours straight without letting up!!!!
We got flooded out...had to move camp...and I wore wellies for a friggin week in the muck and mud.
I hate camping.

You make me laugh!! I hate camping in the rain too. I don't mind the tent...would prefer a camper...but I hate trying to do any of it in the damn rain.

See, I knew there was a reason for not camping in a tent!
 They always tell me how much fun it'll be but I've never believed it. With my luck, Dan will take that stupid bug zapper (the one that looks like a small tennis racket) and I'll spend the whole time getting zapped. And don't even get me started about the availability of switches in the wilderness. Been there, done that! 
Poor, Shylah! Your camping adventure just sounds awful! Did you at least take enough liquor?  |

The only thing that I will stretch on the rope is the hubby if he EVER tries to get me to camp again. I warned him that I hated camping and now he believes me!

Absolutely, all these things are GOOD!!
Kids get a discount, so why shouldn't adults? Just think of it as a second childhood. And use it as an excuse to do WHATEVER you want!!!

Meanwhile, I am making the best of my summer, even though it is exhausting me. With five kids around all summer, there is little to no opportunity for any REAL fun, so we are doing lots of short trips and fun around town.
Speaking of camping, I have three kids setting up the tent in our backyard with the idea that I am sleeping our there with them tonight. Since a real bathroom is easily within reach and I can sneak back in the house if it gets too buggy, I just may do it.

High spirited is good Bethie. I never understood much of the brat attitude, but am not putting anyone down who is into it. The men I have been with though, are the type who would tire of the brat scene very quickly.
Fiesty is a good descriptive work too, as well as flirtatious and fun loving. All of these can easy get me the spanking I desire.

Is this thread still about summer? I had the best summer of my life. It started by getting fired from my job of almost 10 years on May 23rd. I and 70 of my co-workers were fired by an idiot for having the audacity in this politically conservative era of forming a legal Labor Union at our place of employ. I got to be with my kids, ride bikes all over town, install gutter filled rain barrels for the garden, tend to my garden and resurrect some of the delayed bike re-building projects I had not had time for. We went without a/c almost the entire summer, unemployment doesn't stretch that far. Ate simple fare, the boys pitched in on the chores around the house and did I mention we rode our bikes all over? This is not the end of the story but it's late and I'll have to give the exciting conclusion later. |
