Well people our move back to the states is rapidly approaching. I'm not going to be online much longer and won't be back until we are in the states and online again. I'll miss you all.
We have just a few things left in the house now. I took some stuff to auction cos I ran out of patience for the boot sales. (that's the English version of a garage sale) Now it's just going through the last of it and deciding what is junk and goes to the dump and what is still good but what to do with it.(???) I am sending the bulk of the kitchen stuff and furniture to the battered womens shelter to help them get families set up in new homes. Having been in that situation before myself I know that sometimes they leave with just the clothes on their backs.
And right in the middle of all this...I PUT MY BACK OUT!!!! Oh the painnnnnnnnnnnnn. I have to walk all hunched over cos I can't straighten up. It's better today but it makes it a bit difficult to sort thru stuff and carry it around. Hubby keeps giving me "the look" cos I'm doing too much but he can't do anything about it as long as my back is bad. So I'm just playing innocent and telling him "you can't do EVERYTHING, Honey! I HAVE to help!" I don't think he's buyin that.
Anyways, I'll try to keep posting until we have to go off for the move.

I know what you mean about your back as I did the exact same thing last time we moved. What can we do? Afterall, the women are the movers and shakers of the world.

So sorry to hear about your back Shylah, I hope you recover soon. Best to heed hubbys advice as you will only serve to aggravate it if you dont.

I'm not sure when your leaving to come home Shylah, I hope you have a safe and uneventful trip. I'm going over to England for a visit on the 30th...wouldnt it be funny if we were both in Heathrow at the same time? 
Every town and village has multiple charity shops who would take your things, and the money goes for good causes like cancer research or women's causes. They also have Goodwill over there and they might come and pick up your stuff.
I have found that paramol works very well for strained backs and other muscles that hurt. You can find it at Boots in the pharmacy section. I hope you feel better soon...and welcome back!

Well thanks Wolfie but as I stated in the original post, the womens aid shelter is getting the things. As long as I have lived here I'm very aware of all the charity shops even tho there isn't any in this village, it's too small.
The back is better and I'm going to be offline by the end of the week. I hope everyone behaves...or not...till I can get back

Well I,m off to Chicago for a surprise visit.Shame nobody from the den lives there.If Obama wins it should be a big party.I,ll let you all know after I,m back. |

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Ours was quiet but good.
I lost my uncle who was battling lung cancer so I wasn't exactly in the spirit of things. He was more than an uncle to me...he was my friend. We had a special bond and it's been hard to accept he's gone now.
I hope everyone has a good New Year!
