Hello there! I have fairly recently began to turn my fantasies into a reality with my boyfriend but as much as I like his hand, I feel like I could take it forever. He's not as into spanking as I am, so that prospect can be quite daunting! so for our anniversary, I'm looking for an implement that will feel similar to his hand but won't wear him out (and wear me out instead!). We tried a little hair brush, a spoon, a slipper, and a little whip but they have either been too hard to aim or much too stingy or heavily thudy. The slipper worked alright sometimes but the tip kept nipping at me and that was much too intense. I was wondering if any of you enthusiasts would have some suggestions for us. Thanks! :D |

Buy yourself a balsa wood paddle at a toy store. Take off the rubber ball and elastic. An alternative is a light plastic paddle---it will last longer. I've used one and it's nice. Don't imagine that because it's lightweight it won't deliver a sweet spanking.
A Rubbermaid spatula is an interesting alternative. Lick off the frosting first. |

Thanks for the ideas! I will definitely look into it. Where does one get a plastic paddle? As it is a special occasion we are thinking of spending some money and getting something fancy. Any suggestions on paddles/straps/etc? I'm leaning towards leather personally but don't know if that will create the feel I am looking for |

I think I got my plastic paddle at a toy store or a chain store. It was a paddle with ball thingie. It cost about as much as a supermarket tabloid. The virtue of starting cheap is that you can experiment with a lot of different things without a big cash outlay. You can certainly spend money if you wish to, at more upscale stores. If there is an adult sex shop within range, you can visit there. More and more of these shops are women-owned and -operated, and they pride themselves on their nonsleazy ambience, unlike the sex shops of old. As a woman, you would not be made to feel unwelcome there.
I've never tried leather, so I can't help you there. Google "leather" and you'll probably get lots of inspiration.
An arts-and-crafts store might have any number of stuff you could try. I'm serious. Or a housewares store. One advantage: these kind of implements don't all by themselves precipitate salacious giggles when encountered by friends or small fry. They might wonder why a Rubbermaid spatula is in the drawer next to bed rather than in the kitchen, but....
(Or maybe they won't wonder.)
You sound like you have a good relationship! You know, it is so cool that more people are comfortable with spanking and can discuss it freely with their partners.....not to mention online.

We have tried a few things, including the rubbermaid spatula...lol...and a ping pong paddle, which broke. Ugh!! He recently hit the adult store and got a leather paddle, but for the price he paid for it, it was falling apart at the end of that session!! We are now looking into quality...I have read so much great info on this forum and from what I can gather, wood gives more of a thud and leather gives more of a sting...which is what I am looking for. So, for a little more than what he paid at the adult store, I will be purchasing a quality leather paddle from a site linked to the forum!! Keep us posted on how things are going for you, and what you try & if you get the sting you want....cause I too crave the sting and am looking for something to add to the 'toy' drawer!!  |

Though they can be difficult to find sometimes, the Cracker Barrel paddles work wonderfully for spanking, though actually made for paddleball. I havent seen one at my Cracker Barrel for a while, but a google search might bring you some luck. The CB paddle is very lightweight and easy to use, and will grab your attention. I agree with leather paddles, they are my absolute favorite to use. They provide a wonderful sting, and especially a nice Boudoir paddle is easy to aim and use, without ripping your bottom to shreds.

Nothing beats the palm of the hand as far as I am concerned.
If you want more sting with less effort, use a high quality table tennis bat (ping pong paddle) Stiga is the industry leader and handles are reinforced. The cheep ones break easily. The paddle ball or CB paddles are more like toys to me.
Leather paddles are great if you can find in the size and weight you like. |

I love the leather belt. My bf is in law enforcement and we use one of his old uniform belts, it's 2 inches wide, a nice firm but soft leather. Dan cut it shorter, about 20 inches, so it's much easier for him to land it right where he wants on my bare bottom.
The two different sides give a completely different feel, the smooth finished side vs the raw leather side.
For some people spanking is fun, somewhat of foreplay to great sexual experiences. While it's exciting sometimes, it's discipline for me and it's what I need. After a good spanking with the belt I just feel so much better, my whole body, relaxes and I get refocused to what i need to be doing. I tell you because it's important to find the right implement(s) for you, that let you get the full experience.
many people don't understand it, it took Dan quite a while to understand it, he held back at first, I am so lucky he has relaxed and realizes how much I need to get the belt.
The point here is keep trying different implements until you find the right one for you because when you do you will be in heaven and it will show. |

a bit like Jeanie, spanking is something I need deeply, and for that reason it has to hurt. It may or may not be that you are of like mind. If you are, I suggest you ask you spanker to use a wooden paddle on your bare bottom. It will sting like mad, but please believe me, afterewards, it will provide the most wonderful feeling of peace and happiness.

Hi! I'm sorry I vanished for so long. I was...ehem...busy. 
I really liked all the ideas that you guys provided me and I can't wait to explore some more and find more unconventional tools. We tried a switch at midnight in the woods in front of my parents house. I know that's very naughty, but we are renting and didn't want to risk trespassing in some random woods. It was crazy stingy!! I don't know if I will ever brave it again but I might not have a choice with that one I would love to try out all the other options that I know are out there but I think that might take a while!
For the anniversary we sprung for a leather paddle 'Turntail Rosy' from Leatherthorn paddles. It's already got a good amount of wear and tear and it pushed me much farther than I've ever gone before. It's been great! It is easy to hit a wrong stroke though and those can hurt quite a bit! He can continue on into the hundreds without breaking much of a sweat. Best spanking ever. My butt felt completely raw afterwards and was the deepest red it has ever been but ever stroke just brushed the limits of what I could handle and I felt absolutely satisfied.
I'm getting more and more daring now that I've discovered my limits are not as narrow as I previously thought. I want to try more and harder. I've been thinking about straps and wondering if those are much different than paddles. I like the sound of 'go get the strap' but would like to know a bit more about it before making a purchase. I also want to get a cane at some point. Any suggestions on material or type? I can take a lot, as I've recently discovered, but I can't handle anything too ultra stingy. I would also like to try a wooden paddle at some point. I've only tried wood once and it was a small spoon and therefore the sting was far too localized and I couldn't handle it. I think a bigger wooden implement would be great though. However I can't find any large wooden brushes or something like that. Does anyone know where I could get one? I will try the paddle ball ones and let you all know how that goes
If anyone has anymore info on those implements or more suggestions, I'm all ears. I'm even more into spanking than I was before and I want to test my limits over and over again. |

Julia, a leather paddle is a great first puchase. Most bottoms can sustain a long hard spanking with a leather paddle. Before you purchase a strap, just have your boy friend pull off his belt and give that a try. Belts and staps are hated by some bottoms, but a belt is my favorite. Each stroke is different; some hurt alot more than others, and so I can't my mind cannot ever settle in.
Also, for a little icing next time you are paddled--go cut a couple of switches to be used on you after your paddling. They are especially nice on an already spanked bottom.

We bought the CB paddle years ago, and it is holding up wonderfully. We also have a leather one that has a totally different feel to it. Google Cracker Barrel and see if you can purchase one online. I highly recommend it. I do, however, like the idea of using household items. Nothing like seeing a ruler, flyswatter, wooden spoon etc. just lying around looking so innocent. Also, before you purchase a cane, you might want to try using the rod off blinds first. It is flexible, stings like crazy and you will be better able to make a choice on whether it is for you or not.

And of course, the slipper. Works beautifully. i once bought a pair of ballet slippers after reading somebody's fantasy (in a magazine) that he wanted to spank Diane Keaton with one. But as exciting as the idea was, it's like spanking somebody with a napkin.
But ordinary bedroom slippers, especially the ones with rubber soles? Feels great. Wonderful intimacy. Those of you out there who haven't tried it......try it! |

Not too loud has its definite advantages, unless part of the punishment ritual is communicating to everybody in the apartment building or the motel that you are being spanked. And I'm not sure too many spankees or spankers really get into that. |
