This used to be a very interesting place. Have people with stories and experiences moved on? |

This is pretty common during the hectic holiday season and I know I'm no exception. There just isn't enough time for everything and I have to let some things slide. Sad, but true. Also, I've checked around and stand alone forums aren't as popular/busy as they used to be. People seem to be more interested in communities that are more than just forums. |

I have seen a number of people just logging on, some with a question, and then they disappear. Do you think Bethie that these are real posts or just some people fooling around? |

Maybe, just maybe, and I'm just saying, maybe the moderator is just too domineering here, I know I've been chastised and had posts deleted because it wasn't exactly what she wanted, or where she wanted it posted. While I love some discipline, I prefer real discipline, and not the having my post being deleted. While it may not have been where or what you wanted, it was my experience & opinion. As long as it is not completely out of control or illegal, let the forum users police the place. If someone is always off topic or out of line some how you will know. A different opinion or experience is the best way to get people to respond. In my humble opinion. |

The reason your posts were edited or deleted was because you broke the rules of the forum. I explained all of that before. The rules are there for everyone's benefit. When someone posts here they expect real answers and when you don't answer them it's not fair to them. The biggest complaint I get is from people who say they get disgusted when people hijack a thread that could have been informative and useful and turn it into nonsense. It isn't the other forum users responsibility to police the site, that's my job since it's my site. They don't want to disrupt the threads anymore than I do but sometimes it's necessary for me to do it in order to enforce the rules, so I do it. I don't like to because correcting the problem can hijack the thread and kill the conversation just as completely as off-topic answers can. Besides, I know when these things happen because I get emails from members. Not all of the members post, some of them are just here to read and it really bothers them when someone jumps on a thread and hijacks it away from its original topic. That's what happened to you then and it's what's happening now. I've already been alerted to this post which is why I'm here now answering you. Your negativity and disrespect isn't welcome here, Jeannie. To quote one message, "If she doesn't like how you run the Den then why doesn't she just leave and take her bad attitude with her?" That's how you're coming across. Someone else suggested that maybe you're from another site that doesn't like competition (although I don't have a clue as to what we could be competing for), one of my cyber stalkers, or just ticked off about that earlier incident. No matter, this is still my forum and I'll moderate it however I see fit. Some people like the way I've handled this forum by keeping the drama down to a dull roar and making sure everyone gets the respect they deserve. I'm still getting a lot of traffic here and judging by the emails I just received, they're out there reading and still enjoying what they find here. Even when things aren't really exciting discussion wise, there's a lot of material in the archives which is something people appreciate and that's a comment I hear quite often. I'm not here to win a popularity contest; I keep this forum as a place for polite, adult conversations that could be a benefit to anyone who is willing to visit here and abide by the rules. I don't have to provide this site, but I do and all I ask is that people act like adults and play by the rules. That's it. Bethie |

Fred, sorry, I kinda got sidetracked there and didn't answer you first. I think people who just make one post and are never heard from do so for a variety of reasons. Sometimes if you read their posts carefully you might get an idea of what's going on with them. Some people just come here to read and get what they can out of what's already been posted. We've covered a lot of topics here and from what I've heard through emails, that's enough for them. They can often get the information they need that way without having to post again. There are always going to be the people who are shy or not quite comfortable talking about this spanking thing yet. They'll visit, make a post or two, then decide to go back to lurking. We have a lot of lurkers from what I can see when I look at the numbers. That's cool, too. You never know when we'll hit on a topic that will spark their interest and they might post again. It's happened before. I hate to say it, but there are always going to be the people who are living their spanking fantasies online instead of in reality and posting on forums like the Den is part of that activity. That's why I've always stressed the fact that we welcome all here no matter your experience or lack of it. Sometimes the ones with the least amount of experience are the ones who can really benefit from a site like this after all. Even if someone has little or no hope of fulfilling their spanking desires in real life, they can still join in, share their stories, or whatever they're comfortable with. They're still welcome here. |

Hi,Bethie and Fred, I know for me I have found that I am limited in my time - there is so much out there that it is hard to cover all the forums.Often I will simply check back once or twice a week to see if there is anything new and I only post when I think I may have something positive or new to add. I still love this forum and will return when ever I can. |

Bethie, I think the forum looks great. I love The Spanking Blog but it took me a long time to wander over here. Though I've too been wondering where is everybody? |

I like the Spanking blog and also the Spanking Bethie blog. She really loves being spanked for the sheer pleasure of it. Something I can definitely relate to. By the way, I'm still here! |

Oh yes, I like the Spanking Bethie blog too. Reading about her relationship with Dan, from both their sides, actually helped me feel a lot more comfortable exploring my kink with my husband. A lot of the stuff I was reading before I found those two sites was just... not the kind of relationship/spanking situation that I PERSONALLY found appealing. Their posts made me think, OK, maybe we can do this in a way that works for us after all... So thanks, Bethie! } |
