It seems that most people here prefer spankings on the bare bottom. I'm just curious why this is so.
I generally like to have my wife wear pantyhose without underwear, along with stilettos. Perhaps this is just my other favorite fetish. There's something about having her go and prepare that I really find enjoyable. Anybody else have favorite alternatives to the bare bottom? |

I've been reading Loving Domestic Discipline by Mr LovingDD. I'm not an advocate per se of DD, I'm just looking for ideas and thoughts. Anyway, his view is that bare bottom spanking gives the spanker visual feedback as to the condition of the impacted area. There is also an aspect of humiliation associated with being bare bottom. He generally views spankings as a disciplinary practice and recommends downplaying the erotic aspect, as he thinks it will distract the man and sometimes interfere with the thoroughness of the spanking. I'd venture that my taste in having my wife wear an erotic outfit would go against this.
I can understand his first point about being able to see the effect, though for me personally, I don't care to spank so hard that there is much risk in bruising or breaking of the skin. I rely on my wife to tell me if it's too hard, whereas some DD practices leave this up to the man. I think a thin layer of stockings probably softens the blow ever so slightly (which will allow me to get more swats in, of course).
As to humiliation, I don't see his point. Just about ANY way of spanking will involve some degree of humiliation, no?
The erotic aspect of spanking is extremely central to my own personal interests in it, and so the idea of purposefully detaching eroticism from the spanking doesn't appeal to me. The DD notion that the eroticism might interfere with the purpose of the spanking doesn't persuade me as the eroticism IS the purpose for me. |

I haven't read Loving DD, but it sounds like something I ought to.
Personally, I also prefer the idea of being spanked on the bare, although these same preference become a might fickle when said ideas are put into practice. The brain and mouth tend to sign the rest of me up for more than I want to handle.
There are times the Hubby doesn't bother baring, but he does not strike me anywhere but the butt and (sometimes) the tops of the thighs. I know some people enjoy getting smacked on the hands or the breasts, down the backs of the legs, the back or, er...the front parts, but to me the idea of being hit in any of those places isn't erotic, it's terrifying in the extreme. Thankfully, the hubby respects this. |

For me it's always bare bottom spankings. Of course, it's not my decision but the rule of the house. All punishment is administered with pants and panties pulled down. OTK, face down on the bed or whatever position I am told to assume. Definite Ouch! But a lesson well learned! Anyone who doesn't believe in the old saying "spanked so you won't sit down for a week" is very wrong. I was seriously spanked over the weekend and it still hurts to sit down! My bad! |

I guess I can answer for my husband...he likes to have me wear "boy shorts" for a spanking. I am not sure why he likes to start out with those, seems it does not take him very long to get them off and complete my spanking on the bare bottom. |
