Some spanking clips I've seen show the top applying what looks like hand lotion or skin cream to his bottom's bare ass before spanking her. Some guys seem to slather it on pretty thick, or even stop and re-apply more during a long spanking session. Why? Does it change the sensation for the bottom, or help to protect the skin from damage, or both? Are there reasons "pro" and "con" for applying some kind of lotion or cream before spanking (as opposed to after)? |

We use lotion because it is enjoyable for both of us, and it keeps the skin supple, preventing early failure. We have verified this by using lotion on one cheek only, and spanking each cheek equally. Sigh.............Life is just one big Science Fair project. 
Long spankings seem to dry out the skin, causing a gray cast. Also, supple or moist skin results in a sharper sting and a more satisfying sound from flat instruments.
And, regularly spanked bottoms need regular exfoliation and lotioning to stay soft and supple. For exfoliation, my wife uses a loofah and I use a bath brush.

I was under the impression that the liquids, whether oil or water, on the cheeks during a spanking increased the sting. Putting oils or lotions on after the spanking were to take care of the skin. Maybe someone with more experience can jump in ... |

A few years ago we did a comparision of my getting spanked over his knee with no lotion and then a week later in the shower, getting spanked on my wet bottom, the spanking in the shower did sting more, that may be because it was wet or maybe the postion I was in, standing. hymmm maybe we need to do this again and see if having a wet bottom will make it sting more, lol.or maybe someone would like to take the test.and tell us how it goes.
