I have been reading a lot about the use of paddles with and without holes and the info is confusing.
Can anyone tell me are paddles with holes really dangerous like some things i've read say or is it all in the use? Do they hurt any worse than a regular paddle? And what kind of "damage" do they or can they inflict?
Thanks for your input I have been "toying" with the idea of getting one but I don't want to put out money on something I might regret. |

Hi Rosycheeks,
After many years of being spanked both ways and making my own paddles I have concluded that the holes give more of a psychological fear factor than anything else. Of course if the holes are not chamfered, that creates many sharp edges which may cause more marking and blistering if used hard.
Paddle for paddle there is more sting to be had from one without holes.
But after all is said and done, you really have to feel it for yourself.
And I am always looking forward to hearing other's opinions on the subject.

I'm no expert but the bottoms I spank with a paddle will pick the one without holes before the one with holes. They hate the one with holes for some reason. |

I only get the holey paddle(I prefer to call it the "unholy paddle") for serious punishment which believe me does not happen too often! It means not sitting comfortably the next few days, and in the summer no cheeky shorts or thong bikinis because of the marks.
Gwen gave me my last one a couple months ago when I was in a hurry and parked in a handicapped parking space. I got no ticket fortunately, but when she saw what I had done,I got a really sore bottom! Which I of course deserved. |

As I understand it, the holey paddles are supposed to sting more because with air able to pass through the paddle itself via the holes. there's less wind resistance so the paddle is supposed to be able to move through the air faster, thus hurting more. I've no idea how true this is, but our frat paddle stings like crazy even without holes! |

We did an experiment with identical riding crops with rubber slappers on the end. One was smooth and the other had a hole in the middle. The one with the hole had a metal washer glued to the back (same size as hole) to make the weight the same (+- 1 gram).
I was the subject, since my wife is spanked only as foreplay. Each cheek got just one of the paddles. 300 strokes on each cheek.
The holey one felt like it was hitting harder, felt heavier and did more damage, with skin failure occurring about a hundred strokes sooner. The smooth one had a sharper sting.
So, to sum it up, the holey one felt heavier and the smooth one stung more. The holey one caused skin failure sooner. |

My wife uses paddles both with and without holes and both types hurt, but in my case the one with the holes is much more painfull a) because it just smacks harder and b) because it is longer so every smack hits both bottom cheeks. I must admit though I enjoy both. |

I now have the benefit of both. I Got a gorgeous paddle made for me solid on one side and holes on the other-I really like it but man the smooth side really stings. |

I've had both and can tell you that a paddle with holes leaves a much more lasting impression. |

Paul's first paddle has holes and was handmade for him by a Dom in the USA. I didn't care for it much but then we were out shopping one day at the adult shop and the cads have put in a discipline section! He bought this "lovely" oak stained paddle. No holes. Much much worse but I have to say the worst is either a tawse or a cane. Nothing really compares to them, not a bath brush, not a riding crop, not a royally comissioned (sp) hairbrush, not anything. |

paddle with holes I love it is an interesting blend of pain and pleasure, I love getting spanked with both types. |

I have heard a lot about this question, and read about how much more intense it is with holes. My girlfriend asked me to buy a couple with holes, and I did (of course). I do not find a big difference, although arguably she spanks till I am past caring! |

I think I may try out this holey paddle made from lexan plastic. It's clear, and looks so pretty.I just want to try it out to feel the difference. |

I would NEVER spank a woman with any kind of blunt intstument like a wooden paddle, because it can start vericos or spider veins in the buttocks or backs of the legs. I don't even spank that hard with my hand. I prefer the little stinger paddles -- they don't actually harm her but they sure can sting without much effort on my part. All I have to do is flick my wrist to spank at a VERY fast pace in an unpredictible manner all over her bottom. I have three 1/16" thick flexible paddles for this purpose. All of the redness is gone within an hour of the spanking. the first paddle is neoprene, for just regular punishment. The second one has a nice tire tread design that has a gradual cumulative effect of building up the pain. That one is for the young lady who needs a little scare thrown into her becasue she doesn't know how long it is going to last -- or how much more it's going to sting before i stop. The last one is lexon. that one produces a horrible sting. and it feels like I am still spanking her for a whie after I am done. If you want something with holes, try a fly swatter. i use this to encourage my lady to get her house work done a little faster. Like when she is scrubbing the floor, bare bottom on her hands and kness. the bottom is turned up nicely to recieve a swat now and then. I kind of pop the swatter around her the whole time -- she never knows if its going to land on the floor, the wall or her behind. It sure makes her hurry up, though. |
