When spanking a lady, some gentlemen reject the hairbrush in favor of a longer, stronger implement.
But the hairbrush has much to recommend it.
1. Versatility: whether the lady is positioned OTK or otherwise, the hairbrush can be applied to her backside without difficulty.
2. Availability: in any domestic situation, a hairbrush is never far away. The lady may be required to fetch the hairbrush and present it to the gentleman.
3. Irony: how neat it is that something the lady uses every day to groom her head is used to chastise her tail. |

Generally it is females who have been spanked with the hairbrush who resonate to a hairbrush spanking. Few males I know ever got spanked with a hairbrush. I say this because guys who pick up the hairbrush need to be aware how much they can sting and even bruise if swung too hard. They are solid and not very forgiving on the bared backside. So, guys, caution, please and read the body language as you spank your love! |

For me the hairbrush is symbolic of a spanking threat as is “trip to the woodshed” or “cut me a switch”
The bath or hair brush is too harsh for my taste. It works fine for some people and those who want or need serious beating. I have seen the brush used in several videos where the lady has the seat of her jeans “worn out” and bare bottom beaten red and raw. The brush works though. |

I have an lovely wood hair brush 6" long, with a smooth handle, but it's a very hard wood. I've always felt leery about it and my behind. It's been beside our bed for months.....waiting.
Today at a goodwill I found a wooden salad spoon missing it's mate, only 12" long, smooth surface and a nice rounded spoon area. It looks like it would cup a cheek very nicely. Hum....same hard wood as the hair brush.
Husband came home to find me sanding the old finish off (I didn't want to find out that it wasn't solid or than it had splinted areas the hard way). In the end I suspect both will sting the same. The spoon more so as it's longer.

I think the hairbrush is a fabulous implement, it can be kept in plain site, and is handy when you need it. Some of the videos I've seen do have the spanker weilding the brush like hes trying to hit a home run in baseball, but used in moderation isnt anywhere near as severe as other implements I can think of. It's smaller size makes it ideal for a variety of posistions yet it still provides enough sting for the spankee to have respect for it. Most spankees I know think the bathbrush is just pure evil, which is why I keep one in my aresonal just in case...lol

The sheer simplicity of the hairbrush is noteworthy. Its ready availability and easy portability likewise. And if the play has a "domestic discipline" theme, what's more natural than a lady being flipped OTK by a gentleman who reaches for the hairbrush to make her bottom blush? |

For me the wood hairbrush is the ultimate spanking tool though i kick,wriggle, clench ect
and it burns!i know i have been spanked! just got it a few minutes ago! typing this standing up!!! |

I wonder if some hairbrush manufacturers design their products with an awareness of their occasional use in non-grooming contexts. Certainly some hairbrushes seem far better designed for spanking than others. And even if only 1% of their customers use it for reddening a bottom, that adds up to a lot of added sales over the long haul.
I own a blue plastic paddle. It originally had a rubber string and ball stapled to it, until they fell off. Probably cost $1.75. But on the plastic is printed in black lettering the word WHAP!!!!! It's quite excellent for spanking, by the way. |

I love the hairbrush but my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm! Like most implements it can be controlled to give a delightful sting, without the damage sometimes seen in the videos. |

I agree with Zippo, I love the idea of an implement being out in sight, without anyone knowing. It does need to be used with care though and the spanker does need to watch for damages. That said, my favorite one finally broke after several good years of use. I loved that brush being used on both my head or my bottom; especially when I didn't know which one was going to happen. If I was lucky, it would be both.
