A submissive lady's first visit to the spanking-bench is always a landmark event. After all, it's a major step to allow herself be moderately restrained while being taken to task by a gentleman.
The importance of consent, trust and respect in preparing a lady for the bench is obvious. There is a considerable onus on the gentleman to build up gradually and lovingly to the point where she is comfortable about the development. You could say it's a bench for doing yoga, or stretching exercises, or for extracting information from prisoners. That would work. |

What is the function of restraints in a mutually agreed upon spanking session with safe words? We used restraints early on while my wife was into it, but eventually I found them redundant and I liked the dominant submissive feel of things when my wife held on for another stroke. |

Each to their own, thats for sure.....I personally dont like restraints (I like being restrained by my husband), but would feel very cold using a bench & being restrained by cuffs, etc.....But if its something you enjoy, good for you!! |

The spanking-bench is sometimes called the whipping-bench. It's easy to see why, given the posture of the lady, but the bench is not implement-specific.

Restraints are also useful with longer implements to prevent the spankee from moving and then being struck off-target.
And as mentioned, many just like the feel of being restrained. |

I find three to eight minutes of waiting stapped on the bench heightens the experience. this smay seem a very precise range. however less than three is not enough as the antipation builds up but then tails off and more than eight does not add anything. But five minutes or so with not knowing quite how long give me time to anticipate the feeling of the first stroke on my buttoocks and contemplate how exposed my anus and genitals are to my spankers gaze. |

Theres a bunch of ol roughneck bars all in a small area i like to go to. the one in the middle is a spanking bar -- but not everybody knows that.
There was also a young lady who used to show up in that area from time to time. You men know the type -- she was gorgeous and she knew it, too. Stuck on herself. She made the other ladies jealous, and then shot all the men down.
I'm pretty sure any you men who go out have had a bad experience with a woman like that. So, you won't feel too sorry for her when I tell you that I set her up a little bit, then took her on an embarrassing little trip to the back room.
I can't tell you how I went about introducing her to the spanking bench -- or I would get thrown off the site.hehe
But we kissed and made up. And she even ended up wanting to go home with me.
Now she's my favorite little playmate. And she's been very polite to everybody ever since -- except me. |

We have a wood rocking chair with a really tall back (square not round at the top) that, when tipped forward and pillows are added to the bottom between the curved legs to elevate my bottom above the curved legs, works as a fantastic spanking bench. The curved legs of the rocker naturally provide a place for ties and restraints of any kind. The back of the rocker provides places to tie my arms and still leaves my breasts free (Master pinches my nipples when I count my swats with the paddle too slowly). All the while leaving my bottom in the perfect position for whatever Master has in mind. The greatest thing about the rocker is that it is easily pervertable. When we have company over, its in the main room and a no one is the wiser about its other uses.
I love when Master ties me to it for my spanking or paddling. And I blush a lot when we have company over and anyone sits in it.
So if you are thinking about introducing your lady to a spanking bench and are worried she won't like it, consider a wood rocking chair that can remain in plain sight of everyone.
Master had me over it yesterday for a punishment and I could not move out of position when Master really got into the swing of things. I'm sitting sore today, but I deserved the punishment.

As Myredtail describes, creative use of furniture can produce lots of fun. The key feature of a spanking bench (conventional or improvised) is how it elevates a lady's bottom. In this way the target area is presented most appealingly for the gentleman to perform his disciplinary duty. |
