Much is said and written about confining a lady to the corner for a specified time at the conclusion of her spanking. The value of this practice as a means of prolonging her punishment is obvious, especially (but not exclusively) in the context of a DD relationship.
Less attention is paid to Corner-Time (CT) in advance of a lady's spanking. I think it's a topic worth exploring.
The benefits of pre-spanking CT are various. It allows both parties to prepare psychologically for what's to come and confirms the lady's growing sense of submission as she follows the gentleman's instructions regarding posture, dress and comportment.
The gentleman decides the duration and detail of his lady's CT. He might, for example, split the session into three segments, requiring her to stand, kneel and sprawl in the corner for 10 minutes each, in different stages of undress.
This gradual build-up of tension adds to the air of anticipation. Likewise, if the lady's bottom is going to be whipped or caned later on, the sound of practise strokes being performed on the other side of the room is designed to get her attention.
The result is that both parties are throughly prepared to play their respective roles when the spanking begins. |

I have never had corner time after a spanking but recently experienced before my spanking. I stood (sulking slightly) with my hands on my head and as you say in various states of undress. It certainly awakened all my senses as I waited nervously not knowing what was being prepared behind me.
Even good girls need to be spanked....

The lady's pre-spanking corner-time can also be used to lecture her about the reason for the impending punishment and the form it will take. Facing the wall, with her hands atop her head or behind her neck, the lady's sense of hearing is fully employed, especially if the gentleman "cracks the whip" for practice purposes during his discourse.
All of this increases the drama of the situation, which is still only at a preliminary stage. |

I have never had it after only before and in between. Sometimes i have been dressed before as i stan in the corner he talks to me about the issue and i am hearing the paddle or spoon taken out if i am put back in and bottom exposed i know that the strap is comming next . Afterwards i am usally left over the knee or across the bed or whatever i am across to let my tears stop and the tingle of the air reach my bottom. |

I love utilizing corner time, pre, during and occasionally after. It gives the bottom time to contemplate their situation, as well as adding a few butterflies to the stomach wondering what awaits after they leave the corner. To me, a spanking is much more than the actual mechanics, maintaining a proper head space is just as essential, and corner time is very effective at accomplishing that.

I agree with your last comment very much there, Zippo.
Exerting proper mind control over your woman will do a lot more to keep her in her place than just slapping her ass.
I prefer the corner time AFTER -- with the little lady standing in the corner with red bottom exposed. If I have spanked with just the panties down, they stay down. If I have spanked her nude -- she's nude.
I DON'T say whether or not there will be corner time until my spanking is done.
My punishment corner is in my living room. If company drops by during her assigned CT, she is NOT excused from this punishment until I say so. |
