We have a new code word. We were with several people moving boxes and file cabinet at Church. My wife insisted on helping pick up boxes some of which were full of books and very heavy while others were light. I told her several times to be very careful and not hurt her herself. After picking up a box that was clearly too heavy I decided to do something. I couldn’t very well order her to stop or even threaten her with a “talking to” which is one of our code words for a spanking. There were too many people around. I said and I just thought of it “I’ll be very cross with you if you hurt yourself” that statement seemed to be non threatening but my wife understood my meaning. It worked. |
