I started thinking about this because of something Kryssi said in her introduction post. There are still a couple (or three) things Dan and I haven't tried yet that I've been thinking of.
The implement I'd like to try is that really thin strap referred to as the schoolmaster's strap. It's thinner than the big strap we have and is supposed to be really stingy.
From what I've seen and heard, it leaves marks like a cane without that intense burn the cane has. I like the cane but I love leather. I think this would be the perfect compromise. |

Mmmmmm I love our flogger. It feels so sensual, especially when he runs the tails over my tingling bottom right before or after he lands a stingy stroke.
I love the smell of leather, too. When he first gave me the flogger as a present, I would just bury my face in the tails and enjoy the scent. |

I love being spanked while resting over the arm of our new sofa. It's big and cushiony so it's great support for me. It's important that I'm supported well so I can get comfortable and just enjoy the spanking.
One of Dan's first questions when I told him I'd found a sofa I liked was, "Do the arms look like I could bend you over them okay?" The man has a one-track mind...but so do I.  |

Well guys we don't have to good a track record with beds. We destroyed Mommabrat's canopied bed the very first time we played (her room in her parent's house 26 years ago. One brass headboard had to go back to the factory and one antique jacquard print foot board/ottoman was destroyed and made into a doggie bed. And there is one motel outside of Coffeyville, Kansas we can never go back to!!
As to new implements we are quite content with the jokari like paddleball paddle, small bread board and of course the CB. I just purchased a new bath brush and am waiting for Mommabrat to return to Florida from Missouri. Thanks Dan-the idea of pre-emptive cracks prior to shopping inspired this purchase-and after three months apart we will have a lot of catching up to do.

Some of us would be happy for ANYTHING- let alone thinkin' about stuff we haven't tried yet - I'm just gonna have to live vicariously through you all untill I can find one of my own. I will tell you though, I'm from upstate NY, and just recently went on a road trip with a friend of mine to PA- Saw a Cracker Barrel store- My friend had no idea why I kept breaking up into gales of uncontrollable mirth...... You really need a CB paddle. It's something every good brat should have.
I posted a link for the CB paddle on my blog a while ago. I think I'll go dig it up and post it in it's own thread.
You could always tell your hubby that it'd be nice to have a special lunch at Cracker Barrel and innocently stumble across the paddle. |

I think the implements I've wanted to try I own and have tried. I maintain a practice that I never use anything on anyone else I haven't had used on me first (both as an ethical precept of having a sense of what sensations I'm inflicting when I Top, but also because the increased empathy with the bottom's experience enhances my sadistic arousal.) By far, my all time favorite implement is a freshly cut switch (or better yet several of them.) I love handing someone who I'm going to spank a pair of pruning shears and sending them out with orders to bring back a specified number of switches to have used on them at a predeertermined time. I enjoy supervising them through the process of preparing their swtiches and then having them wait a few hours for the appointed time of their switching to arrive. I usually combine pre/ and post/ switching paddlings with a good switching sandwiched in between, and never have failed to bring a woman whom I've switched to tears well before I administered an aftermath paddling to her freshly switched bottom.
This is my most intense scene. It's one I've gotten to play out about eight times. Some of these were as sincere discipline (my favorite) and some were as consensual eroticism. I have always been "flying" by the time we finished while providing sincere and very much needed aftercare. My switching partners have either been extremely chastised or very masochistically gratified.
I spank a lot but rarely find partners who consent to this level of intensity. I love it when I do.

BluePencil: I have it on good authority that the staff at CB has been known to hide the paddle(s)in a basket under the toy shelf or at the very back of the rack. They do seem to sell out rather quickly in South Florida but sometimes you have to search for them.
Celticbratt: Be careful what you wish for! Angelbrat has very good advice re CB paddle. Very ggod indeed. Ignore at serious risk to your sit spot. (perhaps there should be a warning label packaged with the CB)

Fanny, I think the traditional switch is a thin new branch from a hardwood tree. The hickory switch is a classic. I've also heard of using pecan, walnut, cherry, and peach switches.
However, the willow switch is another classic, and once you get too far north for willows, you pretty much are headed south again.
Birches, too, make fine switches, so much so that a bundle of them was used for the traditional "birching". |

I'm almost as far north as you can get and still be in the US and we have willows all over the place... although MT is known for it's forrests and mountains.. so I guess it doesn't suprise me that anything will grow here. My mom has a tree that is only supposed to grow in North Carolina, and she planted here thinking it'd last maybe until winter.. now it's overtaking her yard |

Thanks for the info. Yes we have willows here and birches too. The birches seem so fragile as we always have broken branches during a rain. I guess the idea is to go with the fresh, supple ones. I think I won't share this information with my husband Another question, I have always wondered about being spanked outdoors with the fresh air against bare bottom, but have had a concern about being caught. Can anyone share an experience and tell me if it is different? I had a fantasy while in Paris about being taken OTK under a bridge at the Seine, but my husband was convinced he might get arrested. |

About a year ago I wrote about an experience I had when dating TD-does the backseat of a car count as outside?
We were were at a drive-in movie. As usual we migrated to the backseat. TD felt that I was more interested in the movie than her so she she poured her coke on mycrotch. Iresponded by pulling her over mylap and starting to slap her bottom hard and fast. She had definitely achieved her goal of generating my full and undivided attention and while initially pleased with herself TDsoon realized that her rear was stinging sharply and began to ask for forgiveness.
Then a sharp knock on the window. I looked toward the window and noted a policeman tapping on the window with a nightstick and peering into the backseat with his flashlight. Irolled down the window to say something inane to the officer when TD twisted herself off my lap and kissed me full on the mouth. The officer gave a quick thumbs up and a mock salute and wandered off into the night.
The funniest part was us trying to twist around in the back seat as I am large and clutzy TD is large er (full figured?) and very graceful. We laughed so hard that we left the movie and went for a malt at a very crowded ice cream store with me trying to hide the wetness from the coke spill and she wriggling around slightly to avoid sitting on the sorest spots. I got a horrible sneezing attack and TD would not be seen with me and went to the bathroom. When she came out she was trying to look mad but couldn't so we went home snickering like 4 year olds. 
One of the funniest and fondest memories of our courtship.

The first time I ever spanked TD was on our first weekend together in 1979. We had been dating for about 2 months and had decided to become engaged as soon as I could pay for a setting for her ring.

OK...Here's one for you subbies to think about. One day I was mulling over ideas for a new implement and I came up with this. A home-made OTK paddle designed to 'service' one cheek at a time, crafted by yours truly, and made of 1/2 inch balsa wood. Yep, the 'lil' toy airplane stuff. Now, before you start thinking this paddle is lame, first let me say this. It makes a VERY LOUD crack when applied to a bare behind. This makes it sound like a very severe paddling, but with only a moderate sting. We both love it because I can paddle the wife for a very long time without incuring serious damage to her bottom. And I love the loud smacks! It sounds like I'm paddling the daylights out of her, and she receives a sting in her tail just as she likes it. And the results after a long session, you ask? I'm told it's like having a sunburned bottom that lasts for quite awhile. I do know her bottom stays pink a very loooong time! (grinning with satisfaction)
Now... I bet you subbies all wish there was one in your house!

Here's a little outdoor story you might find amusing. I once took a past girlfriend to the city park during a summer afternoon. It was a beautiful day and she said she wanted to try out the children's swing. She then coyly asked " Will you push me while I swing?" and I thought what a great idea as she was wearing a cute little sundress. "I'd be glad to!" I replied as she seated herself in the swing, with her dress hanging loose out the back. I think she planned this because as she swung higher and higher I was treated to a glimpse of her little white panties with each swing. Great story Wyatt. I don't know a single guy spanko who hasn't thought of the inherent spankability of their lady with their cute rear end sticking out from a swing.
For me it was when TD was climbing up into the cab of a 28 foot long moving van after sticking her tongue out at me and while the seat of her jeans was protuding from the cab as she clambered in I reached out and gave her a very hard crack that echoed throughout the truck yard where an old sterotypical trucker type grinned at me and yelled "Whose your Daddy girl!!!?"

Bethie, We have the ruler strap from London Tanners. I think it's the same as the schoolmasters strap. It's a quarter of an inch thick and made of stiff, yet flexible, dense leather. We have a few of his straps and it is the hardest to take. If you're looking for sting, you gotta try one of these. It's unbelievably intense. |

We have a Klicks Round Punishment Paddle from The London Tanners, and it is very heavy. You have to hit pretty hard to get any sting. I find it a bit too thuddy for me. |
