Your wife is hypoglycemic (opposite of diabetis) and lets her blood sugar get out of control. (Not eating properly, or taking care of herself) You get a call at 2:00 in the morning that you wife passed out at work... What do you do?? Get medical attention for my spouse, and make sure they understand their disease, and how to care for themselves. Kinda simple answer, but am I missing something with the question? K |

I think Kryssi wants to know if a punishment would be due? I'm assuming that she knows what to do to take care of herself and to keep her disease under control. Kryssi, if I let my diabetes/fibro/asthma get out of control, didnt take care of myself or stopped taking my meds...let's just say that I wouldnt be sitting down anytime soon once Steve got ahold of me! wolfie loves Steve more than anything else in the whole world...even more than chocolate and lobster! 3 wise men? I guess I just don't get the concept of using spanking as a "punishment" to change behavior in a clearly intelligent "adult." The consequences of not taking care of one's health is obvious...the alterative is becoming VERY ill or even death. An adult has choices. Isn't it sort of like the fact that no one can MAKE an alcoholic stop drinking...they have to do it for themselves? Do you spank the alcoholic every time they take a drink? Would it make a difference to them? (Heck, I know some guys that would "Start" drinking, if that was the case. ) How does a spanking make someone (an adult) follow their diet and take their meds? Someone that "likes" spanking might psychologically sabotage themselves physically just to get spanked, and not even realize they are doing it then. K |

Ftop in answer to your question, I don't think the spanking itself will cause the person to follow their diet or take their meds. In this case the act of spanking is actually secondary to the dynamics that is occurring. The spanking does show and reinfoce to many spanko's particularly those in a Dom/sub relationship how much their Dom cares and if that relationship is strong the sub will not want to disappoint their Dom again. Hence they will try to take better care of themselves. It is not the spanking, it is knowing that consequences will be dished out from someone you want happy and pleased with you, not angry and disappointed in you. The Spice of Life is having my OWN WAY!! A spanking would be nice.

I am not on any medication, and I haven't really changed a thing regarding my diet. The only thing that's changed is suddenly I am passing out. I haven't had problems for over a year, and that was only because I was pregnant with my daughter. So I haven't really worried about it until about 2 weeks ago, I passed out at work, then again last night Anyway.. have a Happy New Year!!!! Kryssi... I have hypoglycemia and you passing out from it is serious. You need to go to your doctor to see what is going on. My hypoglycemia was so out of control that I was passing out, having the shakes, not sleeping ...there are a range of symptoms that can happen with hypoglycemia...it can also cause diabetes if you don't take care of yourself. I am not on medication either ...but I do have to monitor my blood sugar level daily ...eat the correct foods and take the correct vitamins in order to control it. As far as the punishment end on it ...I feel that an adult should know how to take care of themselves ...but if he/she needs help with that then I say it's the Dominant's job to see to it. But that is just my opinion. The guy I am with will NOT discipline me if he thinks that I am not taking care of myself on purpose or just to get spanked ...so I see it as this ...take care of myself and if I want spanked then ask for it LOL...pretty simple solution to me but just my opinion. |

It's not that I'm doing it on purpose and my husband knows that.. it's just that I don't take the time to eat, or anything. I think that is the main reason why my husband wants me to gain weight is becuase I'm not eating, and if I have a weight limit I have to keep then eating more won't be a problem. I do think I'm going to up that limit though, because I seem to be hovering around 110, I think I'm going to raise it to 120 so I can assure myself that I will be eating more, and taking care of myself better. Beachley, thank you for showing me a differing view of the situation. It always helps to hear from someone that sees things in another way. To Kryssi, since you say you're not doing anything deliberately, and your husband knows this too, I don't know how the idea of spanking might come into the matter. I do hope you figure out what the problem is, and have no more scary situations. As Michelle pointed out, if you're passing out, it's a serious situation that can't be overlooked. There's always a possibility that something else is going on too...and it may not be related to your sugar level. Take care, and hope you stay healthy. K |

I must say that it was much easier for me to follow my diet and do what I know is good for me knowing that I can be punished for not following it and knowing how much it hurts being punished for it. The motivation to act right is stronger than the temptation not to act right. Moreover there's that feeling of not wishing to dissapoint too once you feel that punishing me is hard for him and also the feeling that he cares to help me makes me satisfied and when I'm satisfied I don't feel that much prone to fall for my temptations. I must say that sometimes I don't act right just to get him to punish me and show me he cares because so often he doesn't feel like spanking me hard enough. It was not that I wanted to be spanked, I needed to be helped, needed to get the punishment and the only way to get it sometimes was to continue acting wrong till the punishment was hard enough for me to be enough a motivation for me to stop doing the thing. Or rather, I used to do it, but I realized that like this, I would only be dissapointed all the time, feeling he doesn't care and feeling bad that I don't act as I'd like to. It's much more difficult like this without the help of a cane, yes, maybe I act in a more adult way, maybe I'll find the way to overcome my weaknesses without the help of him spanking me and if I do, I'll be happy, that's actually why I accepted his ways and not left him for somebody who'd spank me as I need... but it's simply difficult. |

Kryssi, I have used that excuse a thousand times, "it was not deliberate" You and I both know that we are responsible for our own health. It is wonderful to know that someone else cares about us, but it is time for both of us to realise that the excuse is a bunch of bull. We have the complete power and responsibility to take take of our own health. Queen of Innocence "Well behaved woman rarely make history"

Hypoglycemia can be caused by a "prediabetic" state, liver dysfunction, an insuloma (benign pancreatic tumor, and a whole host of esoteric pathologies. Get a good medical doc to check her out. Diagnosis is important. Spanking can wait !! And no, i'm into flying...not medicine any longer. The pirate. Good girls need not apply !!

I don't have an appointment yet. We had a bunch of random shit hit us at once and all our paycheck is pretty much gone before we have it.. so my health is going to have to wait. My daughter is more important and feeding her is a priority. As for my episodes, I hadn't had one for over a year and have only had two in the past month. None since. So I am thinking that it was just a temporary spell. Your health should be an "equal" priority to your daughter, as I see it. If money is that tight, and you don't have health insurance (and I know what that's like), you need to get with your state agency to get health care. Sounds like times are tough, and while you may not be eligible for other benefits, you and your family may be able to get health coverage. If anything, they can direct you to a lost cost health provider. Seriously, I know your health is nothing to mess with. And....if you think about it, it would only take "one" seizure to put you down for good. You've had two in one month! Haven't you heard, the third one's a charm! Or, three strikes and you're OUT! Please take care of yourself. I thought when you posted earlier that you got the all-good sign from a qualified doctor. Self treatment is not always the best. I do hope you remain healthy, but please take my advice and get some financial assistance with your health coverage. Your life, and your daughter's life are too precious to take chances...right? K |

I am also a person with Hypoglycemia. There are many ways to keep it controlled. I have had this since childhood so I know how to keep myself from having the "shakes"..."passing out" and so forth. 1. Always have breakfast. That helps to up your blood sugar from your nights sleep. A bowl of cereal is usually good enough. 2. Plan your meals with plenty of proteins and carbohydrates. Those keep blood sugars level. Even diabetics benefit from that. With our problem, those are the best way to keep the shakes away. 3. Some light exercise is very helpful. I don't mean a full workout. A brisk walk for about 10 min is great and you don't have to wear yourself out. 4. Small in-between meal snacks. Cheese products are the best for this. And a small bedtime snack before you retire helps to keep that groggy feeling in the morning away. 5. When you are out, keep a candy bar in your bag. If you need a burst of sugar to keep you going till you can have a proper meal. I found Snickers were the best to keep for that. Hope these hints will help you until you can afford to get to a doctor for proper advice!! Thinking of you...let me know how you get along. I also have some great recipes that are cost effecient if you would like. Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.
