Hi all-I'd like to question some of the more experienced spanker/spankees who have gone to parties...would any of you care to share your experiences?G took me to my first munch last month- we are going again this friday- they have a valentines day party coming up next month-These are very nice people, who went out of their way to make a newbie like me feel welcome. G has been to parties before, has watched and participated in scenes....Part of me really likes the idea of doing a "scene" with G- I'm proud of Master's skills, and I know he's proud of me when we play-The idea of being spanked in front of others is a bit daunting if it's your first time, but I'm looking forward to it. So come on - share....inquiring minds want details- |

Celtic, I've been to quite a spanking parties, with many different spanking specific groups, and enjoyed most of them.
I have to say, that when I went to my very first party...I was HORRIFIED!  Seriously horrified....like with mouth opened...jaw dropped to the ground. 
I couldn't believe my eyes, to see women just dropping their pants (and lifting their skirts), and getting "beat." I say "beat" cause that's kinda how I saw it, that very first party. I found out MUCH later, that the people playing really hard were regular "partners" and always played that hard. For my first party...this was a bit much, and I probably would've appreciated a bit of a warning that spanking in the public party room was going to happen. I "really" didn't expect it as spanking was a sensual and private experience to me..and was between "two" people (okay, sometimes three now  ). I didn't expect to see someone OTK as soon as I walked into the room, and I couldn't fathom sharing it with an entire room like that.
I also was shocked to ONLY see women getting spanked, when I was informed the group was open to all. So I also immediately felt like the odd lady out. So there were more than a few shocks happening at the party. This particular party provided labels to distinguish orientation, so even labeled as a "Top," I was accosted by rude male spankers all night too. (They learned quickly not to approach me like that again.  )
I like groups that work to welcome new people, and make them feel welcome, as well as give them a hint of what to expect. I've found Ms. Margaret's SCONY does the best with new folks.
I now try to get with the new folks, when I recognize them, to work to get them a bit more comfortable too. Depending on what group I'm with, as I don't want to step on toes either. I just think a welcoming face (or hand  ) helps ease some newbie tension.
I've learned to accept, to each their own, when it comes to spanking, and the public displays at parties, which is not for me, works well for many. I'm able to enjoy it now, but that first party was eye opening, to say the least.

PS I was at a party once, where a new woman came into the party room, just sat down, wasn't there for more than minute and rushed (no, she RAN) out. I can't say as I blamed her...I know that feeling. |

I think really good ones are a blast. The New Jersey group runs a munch before otk night at Paddles each month, and it really helps to calm newcomers and put everyone at ease ahead of time. The folks are friendly and welcoming, and the walk to the club afterwards makes that initial entrance a lot easier for most.
My first time at a club...well, I thought I would swallow my tongue! I was so freaked out that it was all I could do to keep from bolting for the door! Thankfully I was there with a fellow newbie, as well as an experienced friend who introduced us around and told us who it was safe to play with. He was very protective and I felt much safer with his support. I played with 3 or 4 different guys that first night as well as my friend, and it was an all around good experience. 
I have been to a munch where the folks werent very friendly...I just never went back.
Celticbratt I say go for it, munches and parties can be great fun and you have the protection of your Dom to help you feel safe there.

Yea my first time was Saturday so I'm not exactly experienced but I was so nervous, I thought I'd throw up, but for the most part everyone was very nice and respectful.
I'm sorry, but not as sorry as I'm gonna be.

I just have to say that I think that Paddles, in NYC, is the all time BEST club for spanking folks. It doesn't hurt that the owner is a spanko either! In my experiences, at Paddles...they treat people very well.
Every group or party will have at least one difficult type, and that person will inadvertently ruin a moment for someone, but the overwhelming warmth from most groups overshadows the bad folks.

I have never been to a spanking party like paddles, however I know that there is a spanking group in Atlanta called Spankers of the Southeast and they have spanking parties and munches through their group.
Has anyone ever been to one of their functions?
I'd love to go sometime, but I'd have to get the courage up and also convince Mr. B that it would be a good idea and fun.
The Spice of Life is having my OWN WAY!! A spanking would be nice.

Yes K, Michael is a peach! He keeps a close eye on all the goings on, and is very protective of the newbies...especially the ladies. Its very reassuring to say the least. 
Hey Ann, lets keep an eye on the site and see is anything is coming up in March. I bet Mr.B would go if I were there.

Yes Katie. You just have to find them.
I will probably be moving to Georgia sometime this year, and Ann has told me of a group in her area. They have a club they use regularly, extensive rules about etiquette and safety they enforce, and munches and get togethers on a regular basis. They are having a toy sale and demos the beginning of February, and I wish I could attend. They sound like a great group of people.

Hi all- went to my second munch- met some new people, welcomed by those I met last time. The next PLAY PARTY is in Feb. I'm planning on going with Master....I spoke at length with a few subs there, and I really don't think I'm going to have a lot of problems...I'm sure I'll have the butterflies in the tummy to begin with...BUT..I'm Pagan, and running around unclothed at Pagan campgrounds in front of others isn't something new to me...<weg>>>>> And I trust Master so- whatever he chooses will be OK with me, because he knows how to MAKE it OK with me- I spoke with experienced subbies about their first times- they basically told me what I suspected- Once you look into the Top/Doms eyes, tell them you are scared or need help, they are more than willing to help. Big G and I have talked about our first time doing a "scene" together at a party....to be honest it rocks my boat to show everyone what an AMAZING MASTER I have, and how well he knows me...But I NEVER have a problem with asking him for help during a scene while we are alone. I've told you all before, we have a "Safe sentance"...I've never had to use it though..I believe it is because I'm OK with asking for help, and he is so damn good at judgeing me.After we went to the munch, he took off his belt (SUBBIES< PICTURE THE SOUND!!!!), and whipped me with it. I've never had it that way, and was just learning...I took a few to the back ( light), and took a few HARD to the butt and thighs...I ended up saying after just a few "MASTER....HELP me please...", and he did in his way. I never needed to tell him to stop by useing our sentance.He helped me, worked me through it...didn't stop, but worked me through it.....sigh...he is SO DAMN AMAZING!!, sorry...Anyway... I'm really looking forward to the first time we scene in front of others...just because I want to make him proud....The date is next month, so you KNOW I'll share with you all, and give you my impressions of a first timer-I'm sure Big G will be happy to give you his outlook, although he has scened with others before.I don't think the naked aspect will bother me, and I trust Master 10000000%, so I'm Ok there...The only thing, to be honest, that I'm worried about...Is to not be a good sub for him, to somehow make others think that Master isn't good at what he does,...I so want to make him pround. |

Celtic, in reading your posts here, and with you sharing your thoughts and feelings on your Master, and your relationship...I don't think you have anything to worry about. From my view, I think you do him and yourself proud now!

I know things are done differently all over, but I'm wondering about the amount of nakedness that's involved. The parties Ive been to have all been strictly spanko...so the only nakedness was most spankees bottoms. Even then, a lot of us wear thongs.
At the club, Ive seen men stripped down to their underwear, and one woman who was being flogged naked. But that's it. How much nakedness are we talking about Celticbratt? I'm pagan too, but I only go skyclad privately.
I hope I'm not being too much of a prude here, and if your comfortable with this Celticbratt I say more power to you.
