I know this has been discussed before ... but, what the hell, I'll bring it up again 
Why does spanking porn tend to be sexless? After watching someone get spanked or whipped or whatever, for fifteen minutes, I am nothing but bored. What's the deal? |

Many people enjoy the traditional theme to spanking. Sex is not necesarrily a part of the interest...at least not all the time.
I don't believe that all spanking videos are technically classified as pornography either. Believe it or not, some actually have a plot to the movie. There are some that have "traditional" intercourse, and other sexual practices, but most don't, as there's an entirely different market for it. People that usually purchase spanking (or other BDSM fetish videos), tend to enjoy the specific act, or theme of the video. The are plenty of plotless sex videos out now, but in comparison, the spanking genre is barely touch on.
Not unlike the straight sex videos...most all have the exact same theme.
Boy meets girl. Boy spanks girl. Boy and girl are both happily ever after.
More rare is girl meets boy. Girl spanks boy, and boy gets a hard on.
Boy meets girl. Boy has sex with girl. Both go on to make more videos and get AIDS or other sexually transmitted disease (or go on the Maury or Jerry Springer Show).
I guess most would get boring after 15 minutes, if there's no real story. Same story, same act...different bad actors.
Try making your own video. Can't get bored with that then! |

I think most spanking videos are porno. I'm using the term very loosely. That John Wayne movie, for example, would not be porno. You can use another word, if you like, but I think any movie in which the essence is mainly prurient, is porno, or erotica, or fetishism or whatever. Now, the John Wayne movie, in my ltho, is misogynistic. I prefer erotica/porno anyday. So the moral value I'm placing by using the word 'porno' is not what it appears to be.
Some Hollywood mainstream movies have no plots, and some porn movies have pretty good plots. But my question is, why don't more spanking videos involve sex? I ask because I don't spank people with whom I do not share a sexual relation. Spanking, in the fetishist sense, is very sexual. So I wonder, also, if a statement is being made by not involving sex. Or is there is a more mundane reason. |

I agree that the act of spanking can be VERY sexual and sensual, but it doesn't have to involve sex to be pleasurable, at least not for everyone.
There "are" sex movies, so the spanking producers leave their videos to...just spanking, for the most part.
I've probably met a thousand spankos over the years, and have to say that most do not include sex acts with their spanking pleasures. Many just enjoy the sensual pleasures of each other, without having to have sex. That's not to say they don't have sexual pleasure from the act though. Thus, the reason most videos are the same. They are produced to the audience that will purchase them. Most people that want sex in their videos, don't want spanking in it too.
Spanking videos are made with the majority in mind.
That's my two cents on it.

I think it's because people who want to watch spanking movies want to watch spanking. If we wanted to see sex we'd go to a porn site. I don't consider spanking movies to be porn. That's just how I feel about it, my opinion. |

If I watch a spanking movie its becasue I want to see the spanking..I wan to watch the spankee wiggle around...the bottom turn color, etc....I don't find these movies to be porn...spankings are not porn... |

While we may not view spankings and spanking videos as pornography, by definition of the word "pornography"...it's probably a good label.
PORNOGRAPHY:
1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement
3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction <the>
If the label fits...and I believe it does in many cases, when it comes to "watching" spanking, then it's pornography. I honestly feel if someone states they get nothing outta watching a spanking, or getting a spanking, that they are fooling themselves. We partake of the activity, or watch the activity, because it brings pleasure in one way or another. Mostly it's exciting to watch, gets the watcher hot, or at least warms them up for other things. Sometimes, it's just entertaining, and sometimes, it's even used to learn new techniques. 
I don't think we have to look at pornography as a dirty word though. It's been given a bad rap in the US.

Aside from the fact that spanking (in the erotic, not corporal punishment sense) does neatly fit the definition of pornography, it also fits the popular sense of the word. That is, I can go to my local porn shop and get my fill of spanking vids, but the spanking section at Blockbuster seems to have gone missing. Anyways, if it makes you feel all Normal Rockwell, then, ok, it's not porn.  |

On the other hand, I cant find good spanking videos at my local sex shops...some over the top bdsm, but only 1 or 2 have spanking in them at all. I would love to be able to find a couple of decent spanking videos for my collection.
I do have a friend who has made a collection of spanking clips from movies thru the years. Its expensive to buy the whole collection, but the quality is good and it's a lot of fun to watch.

I agree with the fact that there aren't many good spanking video's/dvd's at the local movie places. I have even tried renting/purchasing them from the local adult book stores and they aren't that great! |
