For all of us newbies out there will someone please answer this question? What are the do`s and don`t of impliments. Shortly after my husband spanked me ( I was lying on the bed face down) with our new wooden paddle (stung like heck) I think I remembered reading that wooden paddles should be used when a person is in an leaning over, standing position. Is this true? It sure did leave quite a sting, 3 smacks, brought me quickly to the "boy I am gonna cuss him now stage" and thanks for giving me what I deserve mode so PLEASE.... help educate us newbies... What do you find for good positions with what implements, etc... my red hiney and all those curious but afraid to ask (inquring minds) want to know. A woman`s heart is filled with an ocean of secrets!

Position is a matter of personal preference, although its hard to use certain implements with certain positions...like a cane otk. But as a general rule, the position is up to you. Bending over stretches the skin and underlying muscles, making any spanking hurt more than it would otherwise. Most newbies (or those not spanked regularly) would bruise from a spanking received in this position. I have been spanked in most positions...ok, not really "diaper" but all the others. My favorite is otk, with lying on the bed or over the arm of the couch a close second. Ive felt the cane, paddles, hairbrush, floggers, belt and what have you in these positions and enjoyed them all. If you want to enjoy a spanking, being comfortable is important. Wood paddles definitely do sting more than leather ones, especially if their varnished or have holes. Your reaction was perfectly normal. The CB gets me to "holy shit that hurts!" in 10 seconds flat. I love leather paddles the best; floggers, my hairbrush, plastic rulers and the crop as well. Hope this helped. If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

Unless you're going for a sudden and intense spanking, I think warm-up often gets overlooked. I very rarely start spanking with an implement. Usually, its several minutes of hand spanking first and then gradually building to the implement. The only time I go straight for an implement is for punishment, and then its usually something like a hairbrush. As Wolfie said, the more you bend over, the tighter everything gets and the more intense it usually is. The positions we use the most are either OTK sitting on the bed or couch with her supported on both sides of my lap, or OTK on the bed with her upper body on the bed and feet on the floor. We do occasionally also have her bent over the end of the footboard or laying face down on the bed too. As you slide down the banisters of life may the splinters never point the wrong way. I have to agree that position is a matter of preference. I think OTK is more intimate (providing lots of closeness), and over the arm of a couch (for us) is often reserved for more "serious" spankings. Like Chris, we like on the bed too. In terms of implements, we started with leather, then moved to wood (more of a sting). But once you move from "newbie" to "spanko", you will see that all kinds of implements can be used - stuff right around your house! **I was spanked with a wooden spoon bent over our kitchen table! Ouchie! *glad I had jeans on....lol "Thought I WAS being a good girl...really I did!"

i think that i needa be in a position that ill be able to clench in!!! lol otherwise, im gonna be goin crazy throughout that spanking if i cant clench! i know i know, im a clencher, not a good thing but to me it is! lol it helps me wait for the next swat!! lol so as long as i am able to clench, then im alrite. being bent way over tho, i cant clench, so i hate that position. and i hate otk on a chair, because only my butt is in the air and my feet and arms dangling, it makes it hard to clench and i hate that position bc if im gonna be there for a while then it gets uncomfortable, but if its otk on the bed, and i can use the bed as support for the rest of my body, than its good, bc i can clench and be comfortable...well as comfortable as i can get while getting my butt blistered! lol |

Gator, you may have been reading something that refers to safety. I know I've read in plenty of places that it is important to be in a position that insures that the bottom will be hit on the fully padded parts, and not too close to the cocyx, which could cause injury. Reader Girl

I wouldn't have thought that there are rules about what implements should be used with what positions, common sense and personal preference will tell each of us what is possible and what is not. We know that OTK and the cane don't really go together but for dynamic reasons. There isn't a Spanking Bible out there that tells us how to do things, or how not to, although there are plenty of tips on how to spank/cane/paddle safely which is the more important issue. |

It's very important to be bent over for a wooden paddle so that your tail bone isn't hit. Wood can shatter the tail bone. As much as the wood hurt when you were laying on the bed, believe me, it will hurt even more when you are grabbing your ankles. I don't think position matters that much for other types of implements, b/c they can't do much damage. Cheers, Victoria

You know, those more flexible implements don't have the worry of breaking your bones if they hit them, but they certainly do hurt more when they hit where the bone is closer to the surface, like the hip or the tailbone! Is that just because there is less padding to absorb the shock? "It was something magic out of something frightening. That's how I live my life, I take it as it comes. You're right about how much they hurt, Otter. The wider implements diffuse the pain; the thinner ones concentrate it, so that it hurts more. Think of a wide v. a thin leather strap. I think it also does hurt more when there is less padding, which is why it hurts more to be spanked when you are grabbing your ankles, vs. laying flat on the bed. I agree with Uh_oh that clenching helps. Everyone says tensing up makes it hurt more, but not for me. Clenching and pushing into the pain really helps me master the pain. I think also it's the same principle I just mentioned: clenching makes the muscle thicker, so it hurts less. Cheers, Victoria

I wanted to add something about positioning when using a wooden paddle; being bent over in a 90 degree angle is best. It keeps the tailbone high and out of the way for the most part, but if a spanker isn't quite sure, they should check by feel. Being bent over any further than 90 degrees isn't a good idea either. It stretches the skin and pulls it taut over the tailbone which takes away some of it's protection. 90 degrees is best for safety. I have more to say about other implements, but I've got to run right now! |

Good to know. Thanks Bethie. Plus 90 degrees hurts less. Cheers, Victoria
