When I was a teenager, I spanked myself with a belt to see what it felt like. It left black and blue marks. I think I also did it once or twice when I was in my '30s b/c I was craving it. I always felt like a freak about it, but I know now, thanks to the internet, that it's typical spanko behavior.

Did it when i was married to my first husband, he was a non spanker, i tried using the belt, paddle and a hairbrush which was the easiest and most effective to use, flame red afterwards, and sometimes had some marks which lasted a couple of days. even if i wasn't married to a real good spanker, i don't think i would do it again.

I think that it would depend on if I had someone to spank me or not. For those people who aren't in a spanking relationship or don't feel comfortable going to parties then it's a valid option if they yearn to feel sore and like the after effects. I'll admit to having given myself a couple of smacks with things but mainly to see how they felt before I propose them as implements but I don't think I would find it a very comfortable thing to do for a lengthy spanking, I mean that in the physical sense. I like the unexpectedness of where the next spank is going to land and also the feeling of 'being dealt with' neither of which is something you get with self spanking.
I foresee spankings........LOTS of spankings

Gypsygirl, you are right about self spanking. I am not living in a spanking relationship and so at times it is better than nothing at all. But your right also, that it is quite uncomfortable. And I must admit that I don't continue full force when it hurts too much. I am angry with myself about that, but probably it's a natural reaction. |

I can see the thrill that people can get from the stimulation of self spanking, but to me it is more of a connection thing. I would not get any more out of self spanking as self tickling, but maybe others can do that too. Maybe I just lack talent.

I tried once with a rope split at the ends. W. was away and he told me to do it over the phone cos he wasn't there. At first I couldn't even do it but it was ok after a bit. There was some connection because his voice was there but not the same without the hand. I've just realized one of my most used/favourite words is connection.

It's so hard to throw a surprise party for yourself! This is the conundrum I see in self-spanking. For me, the thrill of it is in being spanked by him. I've done it whern directed over the phone. Sharing that way is better than nothing. She told the number of strokes and where to land them ... the innner thighs hurt like hell! Yes, actually I've self spanked only quite recently. Not for a thrill though, as some here have mentioned. I'm not sure if that would work for me. I've been into spanking in my mind for as long as I can remember and never actually spanked myself.
Now, though, I'm in a cyber relationship and sometimes when my Dom punishes me, self-spanking is a part of it. He chooses the implement, calls me on the phone, we have a webcam going and he directs the entire thing. He can see my bottom so he can judge what's going on with marking and all, and he's on the phone talking to me the entire time, so he'll tell me a number of strokes and I have to count out to him while he listens and watches, or sometimes he'll just tell me to keep spanking until he tells me to stop and that is actually a lot harder I think. To not stop when you're actually the one inflicting the pain. He's usually lecturing me or scolding me while this is going on and it's because he has me in the right frame of mind that the whole thing works. It's effective as far as leaving me with a sore bottom and also with the emotional closure that comes with a punishment. I do know that I'd be a lot sorer if he actually got a hold of me, lol. Also, of course that human touch during and afterwards would be priceless. Ya can't always get what ya want though, right? lol

Well, the first time was when I didn't know him that well and he ordered me to self spank before I went to bed that night. I can't remember exactly what now, but nothing severe. That time, I felt silly a little bit. Tried to get to the right headspace, but being alone it was hard. I did it though, because I wanted to obey him.
I've never felt silly at all when we're doing it with the phone and cam because it's like he's right there. He talks to me like he's doing it himself and because he can see me, he knows exactly whats going on. There's no faking it, lol. Sometimes he watches my bottom as I spank it, then he'll tell me to look him in the eye, and he can read my expressions that way too. So it's about as real as you can get without being together. Hearing his voice on the phone makes the connection with him very intense and having the cam is a really positive thing. It's funny too, cause at first I was wary of a cam on my end of things, but now I feel completely comfortable and actually prefer to use it, rather than not. I've never done corner time with a cam, but I have done it "remotely"... that is standing there while my Dominant is somewhere else, and waiting for his phone call to let me out. For something like that I don't think it makes much of a difference,but I would realy struggle with self spanking if he wanted that. I know he has made other girls inflict pain on themselves while he was on the phone with them, but as I said, I think I would struggle with that.

I'm a single woman and have not been in any relationship since before I embraced being a spanko, so self-spanking was and still is my only option. I have various implements and a very active imagination, so it works out well for me, but ideally, I would love to have someone to do it for me so that I could have that sense of anticipation/suspense and the control factor. Part of it for me is the humiliation, but I've realized recently that it's also relinquishing control to someone else.

With distance now seperating K and myself, we have tried her self spanking with me directing the action over the phone, and while it may work for some, K says it lacks the realism because even though she is following my commands, she still ultimately has more contol, the submission factor has been greatly diminshed. Not to mention post spanking cuddle and comfort time.
